Coolant System Not Holding Pressure

my ls is overheating because it can not hold the pressure of the coolant once the car gets hot, what could this be from? i have replaced the, overflow bottle because of the crack, the tstat and tstat housing, and replaced all clamps with screw ones, i believe all gaskets were all in good condition so i reused them, i dont hear any hissing or see a leak, i dont know where it could be coming from!

did you also replace the lid on the overflow (degas) bottle? it's a common failure.

Make it easy on yourself. Get a pressure tester (they're pretty cheap), and then you can go hunting for the leak while the engine is off and is cool.

ok, i will try both, does the pressure test show where the leak is by forcing the coolant through it by adding a little extra pressure?

ok, i just switched the bottle cap with the other one i had, filled the engine fill top and kept the heater open untill it flowed and closed it, now its running for the 5 minutes, and ill turn the heat down and bleed again, well see,

You don't won't to pump the pressure up past the normal 16 PSI pressure. To do so would be to risk damage to the water pump seals.

You will be able to find your leak at normal pressure.

ok so i switch the cover top (degas) and let idle, and all seems to be fine, i reved it alittle, and when i went to feel the hoses, all are warm, but harder with pressure, so was this the fix, should the hoses build up some pressure if contained properly , i let it idle for about 15 minutes, so imma go check it again in a few minutes

Yes, they should get hard to squeeze after the engine hits full temperature.

thanks, ok so i understand they will get hard, but if there is still air in the system then probally they wouldnt get hard/ build up the pressure they need to cool the system to make it not over heat?

If there's still air in the system, it may take them longer to get hard, but they still will. If they don't, then you still have a pressure leak.

yes, ive done as much as i can, i do have a pressure leak, i still have a warranty so im going to have the car towed in on monday, its just not holding the pressure, i cant figure out where its leaking from, its ok, its just a hassle with the tow, plus the dealerships are always slow and they dont care as much as the person does, but in the end its worth it for a solution

yes, i could believe it, but i couldn't believe after how many times i did the bleeding thing, but now hopefully all is well for a while

So do you think that's the fan? Or the hydraulic fan pump?

i dont know for certain, as of yet, i know that the fan is moving at a very low speed, like i could stop it with my hand, haha but either the pump or fan, i dont know, what are someways to check?

QuikLS would know the answer. I just know that the hydraulic pump can be the cause. I think that sometimes there is also a pressure hose between the motor/pump that fails, and causes this symptom. I'd shoot him a pm if he doesn't respond here.

i found it , it was just the solenoid on the fan motor, i replaced that and it brought the speed of the fan back up to pare haha
