I've read a few times that these can be put on a Mark and they're more sturdy than the stockers. Well my passenger side broke, so I'm just waiting for the driver. So I'd like to replace both before I can't get into my car. Is there anything special I need to do? Do I need a specific year?

if they are from a mark, late 96, all 97 and 98 handles are the redesigned stronger handles, i do not know what year continentals interchange, but i have a driverside handle in my 93 mark VIII from a 95 conti.

My drivers side is broken too. My car is the same color as yours and it's hard to find a door handle. I got the idea about the mid 90's continental door handle when i eyeballed one sitting next to me at the light. I found one in the junkyard,but it was on a white one. What did catch my eye was the handle part was chrome. I'm gonna go back to the yard with a stencil cut to the size of of Mark and see if it lines up. I would love to have those chrome handles and not have to worry about the color change on the painted part that's bolted to the door.

haha I have a 97 mark and my passenger is broken to so dont count on it hahah. Just need to pimp slap the people you let touch your car and tell them to go easy on that handle...I'm going to.

my drivers side broke when i first bought it. went to the stealership and got one for 97.00 then HAD to have it painted and installed for another 100.00. and the body shop guy scratched the door so they had to respray the whole thing. either way a 200.00 handle. looks good though. lol.

My 97 with chrome Conti handles....no modifications necessary.
Wow, that looks better than I thought. And since I have the same color it just made up my mind. What year are the handles from?

It's been awhile since I put them on, and I don't remember the part number. Call Max at 5-Star Ford. That's where I got mine. He'll hook you up.

i said way up at the top that the continental door handles fit, so what are you not sure of. you dont need to stencil anything, they fit, even the chrome handles, its the same handle, only chrome, you can still by the chrome handles brand new from ford even. the second gen handles are thicker then first gen, they can still break of course, but they last alot longer then the first gen handles. the second gens have more metal where the weak spots were on the 1st gen style.
