Concern with an 06

Hello all... yes I am new to this site but am not new to a forum. I am going to pick-up my 06 LS on monday from a private seller as long as it passes my inspection. I am inquiring to you guys as to what things I should look for in regards to this 06... I had an 01 before so I know about the coils, suspension, door regulator, and tranny... fun stuff. I can only hope things got better with the 06 but who knows... I'm going to take it for a drive and check the usual but please if you can help me to inspect other things that I might not be fully aware of I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks....

If it has THX/NAV listen for a high pitched tone passing between 2500rpm & 3000rpm. If it has the tone you are stuck with it. The question then is, can you live with it? My hearing is "perfect" so the pitch goes right through my head; it is quite painful. The radio or A/C blower does a pretty good job of blocking it.

Other than that everything should be just fine.

LS4me my 06 does that the first time the revs hit that RPM everytime I start it up. I was told it was the AdvanceTrac cycling through it's start up or something along those lines. I was concerned at first, but once I knew that it didn't bother me at all. Now I barely pay attention to it.

It probably wouldn't bother me much either it the pitch was lower.

I forgot to mention it was interference between the AdvanceTrac and the THX/NAV. Our other '06 doesn't have AT (just the regular traction control) and doesn't have the tone.

My 06 makes the noise when i first take off but now i dont even notice it.
