I have air bags now in the car. I just recently lowered it by moving the sensor mounting brackets. I love how the car sits and it still rides great right up until the highway speeds over 60. I would like to keep the ride the same. SO the question is for those that have the coil overs, Do they ride as nice as the car did with bags before you switched. Also are these adjustable coil overs? Or are they just coil springs like on the t-bird? Thanks Eric

No They do not ride as well. Yes there like the t-bird. You can get better perfomance with the right ones.

I have lowered springs and tokico shocks (designed for dropped cars) mine rides nice , when my tires are balanced and joints aren't worn

but it's still no compairison to the air ride..

I'm hoping once I get the braces installed it'll tighten up some

The springs can not compare to the air rides ride quality. There are some members on here that have springs and have ridden in mine and will attest to this. They will also tell you how much better a properly setup air ride can go through the turns.

Loves my air ride. been good to me *knocks on wood* just had to change 2 passenger shocks in 5 years and current one should last awile (dame speed bumps at work, I go over 10 to park)

Sorry but I have cars with both springs and air ride ... there really isn't a lot of difference in the ride. Mark VIII owners tend to like the air ride. Why .. because it's part of the Mark VIII. When you feel you don't want to keep replacing air ride parts, coils are fine.

As for the 1.5" lowered ... Stiffer rougher ride but handles the curves much better.

i have a mark 7 and an 8. i converted both to springs. First off i was never a fan of the air ride, the springs in the 8 make the ride firmer(which i like) i feel the car handles just as well if not better. I also have the piece of mind that i dont have to worry about coming out to my car and seeing it on the ground. So with that taken out of the equation, it adds a bit to the reliability of the car. But you know what they say about opinions...

Well I was looking for aftermarket airride kits and saw that helix has a kit for our cars but there is not much info about it. The downside is that it costs over $1600.00!
