I had a misfire so I opened the passenger cover and removed the coils.. oil in the front 2 pretty bad and the back 2 a few drops..
I replaced the seals as per the tech article (big thanks for that).. cleaned up the boots with brake cleaner and put electric grease on the end of the springs and put back in - still misfire.
Since the first 2 coils were drenched in oil I figured I would replace each one individually to make sure it wasn't just one. I replaced the first one in the row.
Helped a little but still misfire.
The engine light came on so I had advanced auto pull the codes and it said o2 sensor - So I replaced the one after the manifold and one of them after the converter - still misfire
The engine light came on again took it to advanced and they said it was coil misfire.
My question is this - should I replace the 2nd coil or take it to a diagnostic and see what it says. The guy at advanced said his machine couldn't tell me which cylinder it was misfiring. Also, could the spark plugs be ruined since oil was touching them? Is there a way to find out which cylinder is misfiring without paying $80 for a diagnostic machine?
Thanks in advance - this forum is awesome and has been a big help over the past 2 years with this car.
