I ordered a set of coils off ebay and the coils I have fit okay but they're too tall and the cover doesn't fit down properly. I can force the cover on but I don't know if it would crack or break over time. So I'm wondering if anyone has just left their covers off and drive around without them?

most of the owners that have installed aftermarket non-LS coils have the same issue. I wouldn't want to go through rain without covers on.

Try adding a couple more gaskets to the bottom of the covers for a little extra clearance.

I didn't know they had gaskets for the cover? If so are those found only at the dealership?

I had the exact same problem. After much consideration I forced the coil covers on, and they have been fine (about a month of use).

"Update" I contacted the seller and told them the coils were too big. After them checking my vin they said they had some replacements, so I sent the big ones back and they sent the correct ones. They fit on perfectly I went out and killed the engine and no problems at all so hopefully they hold up. All 8 for $157 that's with shipping.
