Hello all! Ok this week I replaced the rear pads on my LSC.Took a while to figure out that I could use needle nose pliers on the caliper pistons..duh.Anyway next week I plan on doing the rear shocks because my upper shock mounts are rotted out. What I need to know is where can I get the upper shock mounts besides the dealership? Can I get solid replacements, and if so wherecan I get them?Im getting alot of noise from the rear and as I was replacing the rear pads I noticed the shock mounts were rotted out.Is there anything I need to know before doing this?Is this a difficult repair?I know these are newbie questions because thats what i am! New to ford products but quickly becoming a believer. Thanks for your help

I got some 2 weeks ago off ebay. they are the solid ones and cost me 22 dollars! They are listed there all the time. (moparprincess) They fit perfect with the t bird sensatracs. Yeah its a very easy job but if you have any probs just ask.

Sooo.TorqueMonkey,if I understand correctly I just burn the rubber off the mounts, reconnect them to the new t-bird shocks, and Im all good right?Does that affect the ride? Thanks for the response.

I did that initially, just didnt like the way it all fitted together, so i got the solid mounts which are flat and have a smaller central hole. (plus they are a heavier duty design)

Thanks buddylee....Im going to try this method first since it wont cost me nothing but the shocks to try

Hey 93 blue on blue..where did you get the solid mounts from and how much did they cost for the pair??/?just want to know all my options

I have done the method mentioned by torquemonkey on 2 of my Mark VIII's...

They will work fine and won't effect the ride. You don't even need to burn off the old rubber if you don't want to... just clean it up good. There is not need for the shock mounts and the ones on eBay to me cost too much for what you are getting.

There probably is no need, just prefer it the way i did it. They were 22 dollars, plus 6 shipping for the pair off ebay. (bids vary so u could pay more or less) They look home made but they are very solid at about 4mm thick! lol.

Yeah, what they said...

As a side note; Whatever direction you choose, is up to you. Make a part or add a part, it's your ride.
