i looked but couldnt find what i was looking for,

heard about pouring clr on the inside and swishing around to clean?

the housing reflector in the lows is all black, wondering if i could clean it without stripping chrome from the back of the light

if you so much as touch the chrome with your finger it will wreck the chrome nevermind clr. when i restore headlights i use straight purple power in a spray bottle to strip off the chrome to start over, and purple power eats the chrome off like aircraft paint remover strips paint, its effortless. if your chrome is black cleaning it wont help you what so ever you need to restore the chrome inside, or buy new headlights, but you dont want to know what thats gonna cost.

im not talking about the chrome in the actual housing but in the low beams, that metal housing that goes around the bulb and shoots the light to the back of the headlight then out.

the actual chrome in the housings is nice, dont know how its so good for a 95 but it is.

got jipped though, they are off an lsc but not the lsc lights,

mane someone :q:q:q:qin stole my lsc headlights mane.

i think its really pretty common for LSCs to no longer have LSC headlights. some people found out what it cost to replace the HID bulbs or ballast when they went out and flipped out. or they crashed it.

the metal refractor in front of the lowbeam is not supposed to be chrome, it never was, in fact it was a flat black sheen from the factory. its supposed to be black.

well then everything is okay, thank you kind sir for the clarifacation.

Mine has never been crashed and doesn't have hids. The hid page in the owners manual has a sticker over it with info about halogen lights.

95 lsc's came with halogens, 96 lsc's had hid lenses, but if the car ever had any collision repair done chances are the dealer would just slap in halogens into the 96 lsc's because they were cheaper and collision shops could give a :q:q:q:q less!

so either it never had them, or they were replaced at some point. like i said, seems to be pretty common.

I'm pretty sure there was a recall on the earliest units. There are 2 recalls on the 95 that there its no info about. I even asked our regional rep to look into it and he couldn't find a thing.

If the lights were simply replaced the hid page wouldn't effectively be removed from the owners manual. I got my car just a little to late to get as built data if it were even available. (10 year cutoff on most cars).

If 95s didnt have hid available why is the info in the manual? Test run?

LSC models made in October 95 and later got the HID system AFAIK. The shield around the bulb was never reflective on the inside (bulb side) from the factory. I used chrome tape on the inside of the shield in my 1st gen HID headlamps - I can't say whether or not it made a difference in light output, but it didn't affect the beam quality in a negative way.

Mine is chrome :) and has the logo on it...so pretty

Do u mind if i sneak this in.....

I just picked up 96 hid housings.....

Can i just put them in my 94 without converting to hid ?

Will all the bulb housings just fit into the sockets in the 96 ?

I didnt search..... Yes im a tool but an answer would be great !

will they go into the car? yes. but i believe you will need to do something to hold in the light bulbs. halogens are twist lock, HIDs have a screw on holder. DLF can hook you up.

search you dummy.

I had to clearance the header panel for the high beam side. Wont just fit right in without doing so. Nothing that 10 minutes and a small body saw couldnt fix.

Guys... the INSIDE. The side that faces the bulb. Not the outside that you can see through the lens - those are indeed all chrome.

i think your the only one who caught on, maybe jaime did, the part sap showed off with the lincoln emblem on it, what should the inside of that housing look like?

the refractors like sapp's are chrome, only in the hid lenses. terry has brand new housings in his mark, stock halogens, if he feels like it he could take one out of the car and take a pic inside the low beam bulb hole, the inside of the refractor in a stock halogen bulb was black, not chrome, only the hid refractors were chrome. inside and out.

dont touch the inside with anything but chamois. i put apost awhile back when i changed lenses, sprayed a cloth with windex and it stripped the chrome instantly.
