Well I bought the meguiars kit. It was on sale for 20.00 bucks at Sloreily's. I did the hood and front end so far [I lost daylight and got busy] I will finish it tomorrow and will have pics. But I can clearly see the stuff on the bar that is coming off. Any advice is always appreciated.
 
clay bar is a must for good paint. Remember to keep reforming it as it gets full of contaminants. Also, clay your glass. Works excellent.
 
Keep the area you are working on well lubricated with the spray. Use only a small chunk of the clay at a time and as was said rotate the contact surface as it gets gritty. If you drop the clay then throw it away.
After the clay you will want to go over the car with a deswirl compound followed by a sealer/glaze and then a good wax.
 
Should I swirl or straight line the bar? And I went through here and read about it a little. But thanks for the tips. I was actually wondering about the windows. I figured it would work. But it's real nice to KNOW before you do.
 
back and forth motions with the clay. Depending on the paint's hardness you may or may not induce marring. Remember to keep very light pressure. Almost none at all!
 
Yes, straight lines, back and forth. If you went in swirls you will leave swirles.
 
I was doing straight lines. And this car already has swirl marks from hell. But I can't afford to fix them. So I wax and wash and do everything I can.
 
Light pressure, back and forth, fold the bar often... easy peasy...

And just you wait, those swirls will disapear :)
