So yesterday both of my cigarette lighters stop working. I had the sirius radio plugged into the 1st socket that I use everyday. I turn the car off unplug the radio power, restart the car and its dead. I tried the one in the back its dead as well. The fuse lights up as well. Could it be the elements?

Check the ground wire on the front lighter, the wire comes loose from mine quite often

I don't know what you mean by the fuse lightsup, but I would bet money the fuse is blown.

I used a test light on the fuse. Both sides light up. What I don't understand is that both of the cigarette lights have gone out at the same time.

using a test light at the fuse block just means you have 12V at the fuse, this does not mean that you have 12V at the lighter. best way to check it to pull the panel from the dash and test for 12V behind the lighter and go from there. I bet you find a ground off at the lighter and I am not sure but beleive it was already said that both outlets SHARE the common ground wire. or it has shorted somewhere, possibly inside the lighter outlet itself. I have seen where the contacts inside have mashed into the casing by inserting a larger plug.

That makes sense since both lighters do not work. I will pull the fake wood trim tomorrow and look for the ground wire thanks

Out of all the Marks I've seen in the salvage yards in Waco, Austin and Houston, none of it was real wood

I thought only the collectors mark 8's had real wood? The wire is hooked up when I moved the trim, how do I check the wire?

Did you check for voltage at the plug? if you have 12V then the outlet is bad, possibly shorted. is there anything in there? I'llcheck ALLDATA to see if I can find a wire diagram for the outlets.
Let you know soon.
