none of my lighters work and my fuse keeps poping and my doors code numbers dont work until I start the car or turn the key on but will only work for about an hour after I turn off the car,so is one of my lighters my problem maybe shorted out?? or am I missing something??

well if its one of the lighters then just take a lighter from another vehicle and put them in. and see if that solves the problem. might be the wires going to the lighter also maybe the connection on the back of the trim panel (the radio trim panel.) i have no idea about the keyless entry, my other 95 dose that.. sometimes i have to open the door to get it to work. so maybe the wires in going threw the door jam are bad.

hope this helped

The lighter problem I had in my old 94 was because the lighter itself was bad in the front. Every time I pushed the lighter in, it would blow the fuse for both. I stopped using the front lighter and only used the back and no more fuses blew. I put in a new lighter in the front and cured the whole lighter problem.

Now, as for the keypad deal, my 95 was doing the same thing. I swapped computers and haven't had that problem since. I'm not saying the computer was bad but maybe when I disconnected the battery for the swap and removed the old computer, I think that's what fixed it. Sometimes my interior lights would just come on for no reason. None of that happens anymore. Maybe just a simple battery disconnect for 5 to 10 min will help with the door pad but you do have at least one bad cig lighter and normally it's in the front.

well here is a good test for you, unplug all of the cig sockets from their harnesses, then replace the fuse, if it still blows then you've got a wiring problem. if it doesnt blow then plug the sockets back in until it does blow, then you've found which socket is bad.

also make sure that there is not a penny in the bottom of the cig socket

Leave them out (including the fuse) for you project of making the car lighter.

You can take that console apart and remove the two wires connected at the back of the lighter. One is the ground. Clean both connectors, and reconnect everything.

make sure a penny or washer or something is not down in the lighter...

something from a friends phone charger was recently in mine

don't think the door pad and lighter could have anything to do with one another.

He does. Thats why I quoted it. Now why was he banned?

no no no, well i know that but, what i meant was that YOU had a point, i mean he wants to cut weight so bad he removes the cardboard but leaves the sockets and fuses.

but i didn't even notice the banned tag, I always seem to miss the good stuff around here

thats an interesting idea, i once wanted to be banned from a forum, i just quit logging on!

could you immagine if Lazer got banned, or Joey ever got bored and banned himself,
dunt dunt duhhhhh

well laser hasn't got banned yet, so i dont know what it would take take to get the job done

They keep me around because I provide a special kind of comic relief. That and I have their pets as hostiges........ and I am too pretty to ban. :D
