Actually I didn't end up going through with this. I wanted to. I kept seeing all the 300C's and Town Cars and Cadillac's with chrome handles and thought "why not the LS?" So I went to the junkyard and took a couple off a 01 Town Car and tried it out. As soon as I got my blue one off and stuck the chrome one on, I knew I didn't like it, at least the full chrome handle look. I saw one where only part was chrome and that looked pretty good. If anyone does like the look, or wants to try it out, the Town Cars handles are almost a perfect fit. A little modifying to the door skin and it should mate up just fine, the handles are almost identical. I'm curious to know what the rest of you think. I know most don't like a lot of chrome, like my pillars, but on some cars I think it looks pretty nice. Any thoughts?

It looks interesting, but I agree, its not the right look for the LS. Your chrome B pillars are fine, but the handles are a bit too much in my opinion.

I saw an Infiniti M35 the other day and noticed it had a chrome insert installed on the door handle, the rest of which was body color. That little splash of chrome looked good, but I think an entire door handle of chrome is too much.

You know... If the actual door handle was the only thing chrome, it would look pretty cool.

Though, I'm not a fan of over chrome'ing things out. Those 300C's, Escalades, and even the new Navigator have way too much chrome... Then the owners put more chrome on top of that!... Too much.

Hey Nic,

Yae those door handles look a little out of place on the LS. I think you made good decision not putting them on. How is your LS holding up this winter? I washed mine for the first time last week. It was filthy. I cannot wait to give it a wax and take the stock stuff off. Oh by the way, where in Minneapolis are you? This spring for sure man I gotta see that blue in person looks so nice.

I personally like if he doesnt put HUGE wheels on it next.

Don't worry. If I can ever afford such an extravagance, they won't be bigger than 18. I actally would love get a hold of a set of 17" LSE wheels. Those are nice n classy. As far as chrome goes, the bumper strips, the B pillars, and maybe wheels is all I want. I thought the handles would look good, but turned out I was wrong.

my friend is selling some lse chrome wheels off his 04 (7 spoke)

It all boils down to personal taste. mod your car the way YOU want to. Dont let society as whole dictate how your personal car should look like.

I personally love the way my Mark looks on the ground. it sits on the pinch welds. when im aired out.

some poeple like some dont. The ones who dont, I really dont care for them I did it for me.

Here is pic of mine.

I have a pretty good Idea what its going to take to get an LS on the ground.

Now its just a matter of getting into it. and making a bolt on kit if anyone is interested.

lose the handles completly.. thats what i'm working on..... i want my car blacked out also.. anyone know where i can get a black license plate surround?

agreed - but then you have to take the good and bad comments when you post a thread like this. Tooooo many times someone starts a thread and then goes totally defensive about the feedback....

so far so good in this thread.

Of Course, I was just simply stating the ovbious. haha. I have come to the conclusion those that "hate" are only truly jealous.

sad but true.

I think it would look better with just the handle chrome.

Know what would look good on that, some wheel skirts. Just smooth all the way down the side. Of course that wouldn't be practical for road driving, but then again... can that thing clear a pebble?

B-b-but I'm blacking MINE out. No fair.

Anyway, how far are you going with it? I plan to eventually shave the handles off, black the tail lights, get the black surround, get the LSE grille and front fascia. I love my black car. If only I could keep it from getting rain spots.

I also want to suicide the back doors like that one guy had.

I would like to see them on a differant color car. They might look good on a lighter color.

Thanks for the replys.

I agree, I bet that would look nice. After reading this, I took the chrome handle out to compare to the LS one. It's weird, they are identically shaped but Lincoln decided to make the LS handle about 1/2" longer. Don't know why they wouldn't use the same handles at that point if they are that close in size. I would like to see what that looks like though.

if the OP could incorporate the actual chrome handle to his stock ls handle mount...kinda like toddg said about the m45's. the all chrome handles are too gaudy, but i'm sure with half as much chrome, it would be perfect.

Thats what I meant by my last post. I would take them apart and swap the handle parts, but the LS handle is slightly longer
than the Town Car handle. I'm not good with photoshop, but in microsoft paint, I was able to come up with this. I think I
like it. Any idea what it might cost to get the handles chromed? If it's possible? I agree, the whole thing chrome is
gaudy, but a little bit is nice.

tape off the ls handle, and have a shop paint the base/ mount for the door handle...
