I have a little over 98,000 on my 2004 Lincoln LS V8. I was considering changing my own spark plugs and wires since I have such a great support system in LVC.

-So how do I go about changing the spark plugs and wires?
-What kind of spark pluags and wires shoud I use?
-What is the estimated time on changing these things? What tools will be needed?

I changed the spark plugs on my 2000 Monte carlo a long time ago and it took me all day, I hope i am able to do this job myself and save money.

No wires, just plugs. I used Bosch Platinum Fusion. You might want to consider changing the coils (there is one on each plug, ergo no plug wires) while you're there. The first time took me ~3 hours. Most of the time was spent on the bolt that holds the valve/cam cover nearest the master cylinder. Procure a 7mm ratcheting wrench and this bolt will be easier to remove and install. Also get some RTV. You will need a dab at the rear of the valve/cam cover where the coil wires run. It's really a pretty straight-forward job; unlike the involved V6!

Changing plugs/coils is super easy for me now. No coil covers anymore.

The windshield middle drain spills into the rear of the engine compartment right next to this area. Better safe than sorry. Seal up that littke gap and you will be fine.

You might want to look at the TECH ARTICLES at the top of the page for changing spark plugs and coils.
