OK guys, Jamie says MK VIII's had no aluminum center section for the rear of the MK VIII's, they were all iron. Per Geno, all MK VIII's have aluminum center sections. I want an aluminum center section that I can set up with 3.73's and tracloc and a one piece aluminum drive shaft.
Please help me find these items asap. Thanks, Kevin.

All Thunderbirds are cast iron...

All Mark VIII's and Cobras with IRS are aluminum.....

They are aluminum. Jamie must have had a senior moment. He has had his hands on more rear ends then anyone here..........

Hey Kevin, ya think maybe you may have had no idea what Jamie said? You asked for "An iron 3.73 trac loc for a Mark VIII" and Jamie said "Marks have aluminum and never came with a trac loc"?

You can get 3:73s out of mustangs and explorers , a "one piece" drive shaft was exclusive to the 93 Mark

the housings and drive shafts are all aluminum in Marks, but the 94-98 drive shaft wasn't welded together...you can refer to my progress thread for pics of both style drive shafts

you obviously didnt read what i wrote because i can post my pm back to you if you would like, i never said mark VIII's werent aluminum go re-read our conversation.

Boy!

Just had surgery and hydrocodone, Xanax, and Ambien puts more holes in your memory than a 12 -ga. Thanks, Guys. Anybody got a set of NEW 3.73's around?

Oh good... I wasnt about to go searching all over for a special diff just to do the 4.10...
Thanks Bob!

Wut? If you have a mark viii then you have an aluminum pumpkin. The DIFF is an open carrier and is steel. Your posts now have me believing you heard certain words and just kinda combined them to make up whatever sounded good. So lets go with the basics.

Mark VIIIs have an aluminum center section.
If you want 4.10 gears then you can get them from anything with a Ford 8.8" rear end. A lot of Explorers and Rangers had 4.10 gears in them.
A differential is what distributes power between the rear tires. If you want a Trac Lok (diff) then your best bet is finding one from a Mustang. Any 86+ GT will work. Don't matter IRS/NON-IRS. I have one from a 93 Cobra and use my cir clips and can remove the axles still.

Stop mixing your meds and taking double doses.

Alright, then I want the aluminum pumpkin, center section(trak-loc with 3.73's), all set up right, aluminum driveshaft and more horsepower to turn it all with!
