How long does this stuff normally take? It's been there going on 4 hours now. They're putting on a direct fit converter set, mufflers and tips.

I was told $150 for labor. Good deal?

The 4 bolts that hold the CATs onto the exhaust manifold are tough to get to and are likely seized up. That took me quite awhile to get those off. They may have other customers to service also.

Did you supply all parts? Do they have absolutely no other vehicles to work on today? Are the mechanics there known for not taking a lunch break?

Just chill. They'll call when it's ready.

Regarding price, if $150 seems to be the going rate in your area, then it's a good deal.

Yeah I supplied at the parts. When I dropped it off, there was no other cars. They actually lifted it up and started on it right away. Not sure about how they do lunch. I was told they do awesome work though. A good friend recommended them.

Just wondering about that, since I've had a service appt be delayed because their parts truck didn't show up on time.

And regarding those cat bolts... that could definitely be cause for delay as well.

$150, wow! The rednecks here wanted to charge me $130 to install.. wait for it..

..one muffler (Magnaflow). God bless the USA.

My bill at the shop was around $150. They cut off the exhaust at the resonators, bent new pipe, and installed the magnaflow mufflers. They let me do all the work for the exhaust cutouts while it was on the lift too.

Picked her up. Sounds nice and looks better then stock also. They said they've been done with it but forgot to call me.

$159 after taxes. Two bolts had to be cut out (one on each side). The passenger side had to be rethreaded.

see... nothing to worry about...Unless

Looks great!

You got a good deal compared to the shop around here.

When priced at the shop that did the work. It would have all cost $900, but since I bought the materials and just paid labor it all cost $680. Nice little savings there lol.

glad it all worked out for you... cant wait to hear it!!! they're set perfect!

The two shops I know of around here won't let you bring in your own materials. Don't know why

They make more for over charging, maybe? My local Ford dealer is going to change my pulley on my ac compressor since I can't get anyone else to do it lol. My back has been giving me problems lately so I don't want to get under the LS.

I was surprised they're letting me provide my own pulley and serpentine belt. I didn't think a dealer would do that.

Really surprised a dealer would allow you.

A lot of local shops won't let you bring in your own stuff because they want to make sure the part is right. Joe Blow off the street could have gone to Advance Auto and picked something up but the shop doesn't know if it's correct or not without trying. If you get in good with a shop, they're usually okay with it.

That's how I am with my shop. They were worried when I brought the Bassanis in (my first real mod with them) but now they just let me do whatever because they realize I do lots of research (and by that I mean ask you guys what the f*ck to do lol)

I know some places won't honor their warranty if you don't buy the parts from them.

this im fine with.

but in this economy, if somebody come in and asked you to do work for them, you probably should hop all over that. making some money always beats making no money

Depends on the shop. My mechanic when I was in FL was always swamped.
