Car wont start

Quick, can you verify what side the pump is on?

Also seeing that the pump may have failed ( if its the issue ) do to me burning it up and not bad gas or foreign objects like rust,..etc,..etc should I replace the entire unit or could I get away with just the pump?

When I remove the unit can I actually see what in the tank?

Like I said the filter is brand new. I replaced it when I ran out of gas and it may have run twice at idle just to warm up since.

This really dont seem to be that bad, just the cost of the entire assembly being around 275$-300$. Labor looks like a breeze! When the dealership suggested I replace the fuel pump when they couldn't figure out my misfire way back they quoted me some ridiculous price! Sayin they need to drop the tank and get inside:sleep:

passenger side.

yes, once you unscrew the retaining ring the lid can be raised and you can see the pump in the tank. It 'clips' into a bracket on the bottom of the tank. With the lid off - you should be able to hear the pump loudly when turning the key from off to on.

You can simply replace the pump motor - there are several places on-line where you can buy a pump for $80-$100 (versus $230 - $270 for the unit).

If you go the pump route you'll also have to purchase some in-tank tubing - you can't use regular rubber fuel line.
