Long story short - couldn't remove the cotter pin from the tie rod, to keep castle nut from backing off.
So I tightened it down hard, with a bit of loc-tite to keep it from rotating off.
But the hole for the cotter is at about the top of the nut, not level with the 'gaps' in the nut.
Would any damage occur to the tie-rod to leave/keep it this tight?
I'm presuming the end of the tie-rod is similar to a ball-joint, where it's somewhat tapered? Never looked at it too close while it was off.
