Good friend of mine has a Chrysler 300 hemi, Can I beat him? I rode in it last night and it sure seems like it has some crazy torque. I know fro a fact my car out "drives" his. (2006 ls) but not sure about off the line actual speed. I know I can out "drive" that car tho..the LS just HUGS the road...300 seems...floaty

Is it the SRT? If not, you should take him.

Going to the meet in August?

mine couldnt beat a hemi magnum, my ls not being tuned yet might have had somthing to do with it, then again that f'er launched hard and put some distance between us before i matched his speed

Paul has an 06. 30 more hp.

BUT, I just read the specs on an 07 300 witha hemi. 340hp, 390tq, weighs about the same. claims 0-60 in 6.3 and runs a quarter in 14.3. Didn't say anything about gearing though.

paul, I'd get a tune and intake if I were you. Then run it and see how it does.

wait, the 06 has 30 more HP than my 03 (280), or his is tuned for 30 HP more. i've also got the k&n fipk and a custom exhaust, the magnum only had a exhuast (says the owner)

Sorry, dude. Thought for some reason you had a 2000.

nevermind.

Intake and exhaust here, went dead even from a dig to 100(98 actually), we both ran a 14.3X at 98.x

It was the 5.7

ok, i though at first that they changed something that i didn't know about with the 06's

BTW i had a 2000 V6 with a terrible case of the "not fast"

i would say no...not if your LS is stock. I have a '02 LS V8 and my girlfriends mom has a '07 300C 5.7 Hemi - which i have driven enough to compare the two. The LS has no chance off the line, the 5.7 hemi has a lot of torque - in every gear, you mash on the petal at any given time and you take off. The LS lacks torque in 1st and 2nd gear - and its not until 3rd that you actually have a chance - everybody with an LS knows that if you stomp the petal while driving there is a slight delay before the power kicks in - not the case with the 300c. If you are gonna try and take him in a straight line, forget about it, and spare yourself the disappointment, however the LS can out maneuver the 300c any day of the week - you are right, the 300c feels and handles like a tank - and it only gets worse at high speeds. I have never tried to take the 300c with my LS, i dont think it would be much of a race :( - my next car is gonna be a Jaguar S-type R...and then i dont think ill have a problem smoking the 300c, and even the srt-8 would be worth taking on. either way, good luck. :)

...and yes before someone corrects me - i am aware that the gen 2 has 30 more hp [actually 28 more but who is counting]...but that dosent really amount to much. Ive kept up with a gen 2 LS V8 [it was an '05 i think] without much trouble, i could tell he was faster - but not by much, and i shoul mention that my car is naturally a lil slower because i have about 300lbs of stereo equipment in the back. I would say there is not nearly enough power in the gen 2's to take a 300c - the only chance you have is to convince him that he needs to run with 3 other guys in the car, a full tank of gas, and 10 bags of concrete in the back...while you are by yourself and running with no spare tire and a quarter tank of gas. that way you might have a shot :D

I'll add that the 300c is ugly as f*ck compared to the LS.

You'll look a lot better anywhere... except the finish line.

+1 never been a fan of bentleys. For the price they are you can make ANY car a luxury car wth the same appointments :P

I have actually beaten a 300C Hemi off the line. The fact that there was some punk kid driving it may have had something to do with it, but in the long run he might have taken me. I had to turn off and go into the gas station(Iwas actually heading there anyway). I have a K & N filter with a modified air box, and a tune. I am doing the exhaust next week, and the tires that I just put on this weekend are WAYYYYYYY better than the rubber that came on the car.
