Here are the pics I was talking about. Its a 6" piece of ABS plastic tubing with another piece of 3.5" tubing to connect to the tube thats coming from the grill. It's for an LVC member, I just have to try it out when it stops raining outside. Thought I would see what everyone thought. :Beer

yeah i like it so far but is there a way to measure the amount of air it gets in as opposed to leaving it with out the tubing? i would think that alot of hot air is better than a little cold??
 
That's a nice piece...if you are wondering about the volume of air...just open the end up and then you know you'll be getting plenty. And...you're still behing the headlight and above the hole in the fender...so...the air should be relatively cool.

I have it installed on my car right now and the only thing I'm worried about is sucking up water from the grill since its a sealed system. Other than that it works great. The opening is 3.5", which is bigger than the MAF. Should be gettig plenty of air. If I were you I would just run the tube inside the fender well, but you don't have to. I'll take it off tomorrow to ship it out. send me your address.

I didn't charge him anything, we are working a trade. I have enough material to make one more.

I got the sheet stock for some internet site, 2' x 4' sheet was 38.00 shipped.
I made the flange and ends from the sheet stock.
The abs pipe I got from Lowes, 24" for 13.00.
The 3.5" inlet is pvc also from Lowes, 3" for 1.50.

seriously consider poking a small hole in the bottom to allow water to drain.

- just think about a sprinkler coming on and spraying the car for an hour while it's sitting there. Hate to (by fluke) just hit the right spot and "fill'er up"....

Since it slopes downward towards the fender when installed, I will drill a 1/4" hole in the bottom to allow drainage if that were to happen. Thanks.
