Hello everyone,

I'm purchasing a 93 Mark VIII this week down in Des Moines. This will be a second car for me - mainly for long trips and for fun. It's not in perfect shape but the price was right - only 2 grand. It has nice cold AC, Alternator and battery were fresh, decent paint, and an average interior.

I've already ordered a few maintenance parts for it:
Plug wires
Fuel Filter
Trans filter kit
PCV valve
ECT (known to cause my old SHO to run rich...)

I've been reading about the JMOD upgrade and the 1-2 spring. I would like to do these when i do a trans flush, but don't have a part number for the 1-2 spring, or a good write up of the JMOD.

I'm also looking at Coil conversion kits for the air ride. I have a few choices, but they all seem to be in the same price range. Does anyone have an edge in those kits price wise?

Anyway - Just thought I would throw those questions out there.

TIA!

If you're looking for the parts to upgrade the 1-2 springs, contact Max at FiveStaFord. You can reach him by e-mail or on the forum here. He'll set you up with all the parts (from experience, he'll know exactly what you're going to want and need) and provide you with the best price for motorcraft parts I've found.

As for the coil conversion, I would recommend you check
www.AmericanAirSuspension.com for anything regarding the suspension on this car. He's a good guy who offers excellent customer service and prices. He sells the conversion kit.

As for the J-Mod, you'll find a lot of info on it if you google it. It applies to all of the cars with the 4R70W transmission, so it's not just the Mark VIII guys talking about it.

Just got it home - it runs pretty nicely. I think the air ride works properly too. It could use a wash and wax.

^ cheap fog lights behind the grill...

Wait until you drive at night with the headlights only, you will be reaching for the fog light switch.

You'd be suprised what a good wash and detail will do for that car. I wish I could find one like that here locally as a Daily driver.

I plan on giving it a wash and wax tomorrow after work. I'll take some pics after that. I bet it will shine up well.

I went over to the self serve wash today them came home and waxed it.
