Bumper crack

Oh btw I called the Lincoln dealer, they said the part is $90 and does not come painted.

If you go the repair route mentioned, you may want to drill out the end of the crack to help prevent it from spreading further after it is repaired.

Yeah I'm going to try to repair it if I can figure out how to take off the piece.

Okay want a secret on removing it without taken bumper off?

Remove the taillight. Just 3 bolts. Once you get the light out - reach ur hand back there. There will be two tabs with a metal clip on them, this clip just pops off with force. The center two tabs have a permanent clip that is just undone by pulling. Once you remove the metal clips from inside - you should be able to lift up on one of the edges and pull.

Since yours is broken be careful.

Hmm I might just try to repair it from the outside. Put some bondo in there, light sand and use the touch up paint. I'm worried I'll break it worse by taking it out, especially since I don't know what I'm doing.

The pieces are pretty thick, unless you are retard-strength ripping on the thing - you shouldn't break it.

Once you take the light off it will make sense. I do not suggest using bondo on it while it is installed, you will need to sand, and end up sanding the neighboring bumper plastic and have a larger project on hand.

Come on, don't be a vagina. Get that b!tch off!

Don't tell anyone. Anyway, I got 2 bolts off the back tail light but it feels like there's a 3rd holding the taillight in place. Does anyone have a diagram of it?

Got the light off, cannot get the bumper piece off to save my life. I can only reach 1 of the clips. My hands are too big to move around in there.

Looks like youll need to remove the bumper.

I had a hard time just changing out the bulbs....same issue with my hands.

What?! are you a gorilla or something?

Even with one of the metal clips off, you should be able to pull that end up and kind of wiggle it off.

When you get to the side with the metal clip that you cannot reach - just let it fall off into the bumper, it usually comes out onto the ground, but the bottom of the rear bumper has minimal deadspace unlike the front bumper and splash guards.

Ok so I found THE metal clip and have been battling with it for 15+ minutes now. It will not come off no matter how hard I'm pulling on it. I've tried prying it, pinching it, sliding it, wiggling it, pulling on it while pulling on the bumper piece, nothing.

Take the bumper off. Tristan: 2 LS:1 you will get ahead with the bumper off. Do it on a weekend when you got time. That clip may be fouled a little.

Are you sure you're not trying to pull on a clip that is perma-attached to the piece?

The metal clips I am talking about that you can remove are rectangle in shape and use this concept:

Get your fingers on one lip and pull up and towards body of the car.
