Build me a 13" rear brake kit.

The fronts are from brothersperformance.com for a 05/08 gt it's a 14" baer gt kit so it should work right? its about 1k and the rears are from discbrakesrus.com its a 13" kit and its a mark bolt patern kit and it's about $900. Its a bit pricey so thats why I want to see if I can make it cheaper somehow.

Pulled into mall lot today while shopping and parked next to a BMW that made me jealous :(

I would love to have a setup like this on my Mark :D

Front swap piece of cake. Rears a whole nother issue. One of the 2 LCA bolts real ugly to pull, had to put an odd twist on the bushing to clear the hub. Saw another post with the same problem. Pressing half-shaft out of rear hub sucks, got one side out then snapped rented hub puller on other side. Nasty gunk lube inside boots - I pulled one back out of frustration to find another way to pull hub, dont do this. Pulled the pumpkin end half shaft out, dont do this either. So I'm on jackstands until I get the other hub off, I got some pics to post later.

I would never try and press out and in a Mark/Cobra hub without a press. The chance of damaging that very expensive bearing is too great. Plus you have to have a press to get the old bearing out and since you are there you may as well replace the bearing. More so sinc the hub will prolly dammage it when being pressed out.

I had my rear hub bearings replaced at PDQ cause Autozone sold me ones that looked more like pilot bearings

Friend of mine did the work there with a press and he said they came out with no fuss. That being on a 200k car too!

Using a press is duck soup! Press makes all the difference in the world when trying to press in a bearing.

Yeah till you use it on something that is corroded to death like an aluminum rear suspension A arm. Hell I've bent the press at the one shop I was at doing lift kits cause that Ranger was RUSTY

?? Ranger dont have IRS nor does it have that style of bearing on the front. Race is part of the rotor and the bearings just slide on after you pack them.

That's why they make penetrating spray lubricants

I have the best thing out there (KROIL) but when things are under vehicle corroded from winter salt and crap, nothin short of heating it up red hot and a press is gonna do it :(

When it's a rotten Ford front axle assembly I try to avoid the job...actually anything older now I would avoid.

Typo IFS but I wasn't talking about bearings on that. Just a hatred of doing them from back in the late 80's before the lift laws really put a damper on my side money.

I had enough fun a few years ago doing Fleet Maintenance for Verizon on the Dodge vans. Ya wanna talk about rusted front suspensions

Dodge still sucks for bearing crap. It amazes me how often a Ram needs to go in for $300 bearings.
