Replace cap loosely
Run engine for a bit
Repeat til air is out. Careful no to rev it if there is a lot of air, it will foam. I do the above then I take it out for a spin with some heavy maneuvers to shake any more air loose. Then I repeat above again. A week or so later I check for air again.
Nope. And I laugh when people mention they do. These are an always active core design. So they are always hot. My older marks however did have a valve that opened when you wanted heat. In that case, yes. But most modern cars its not needed.
