what is the proper procedure to remove the air bubbles from the cooling system

Open crossover tube
Fill up
Replace cap loosely
Run engine for a bit
Repeat til air is out. Careful no to rev it if there is a lot of air, it will foam. I do the above then I take it out for a spin with some heavy maneuvers to shake any more air loose. Then I repeat above again. A week or so later I check for air again.

doesnt the manual say something about turning the heat on all the way?

Nope. And I laugh when people mention they do. These are an always active core design. So they are always hot. My older marks however did have a valve that opened when you wanted heat. In that case, yes. But most modern cars its not needed.

What kind of difference would the under drive pulley kit make as far as the engine temp
