Passengerside lower control arm and ball joint.:( Called Rockauto and ordered the parts wednesday. $126 shipped. Should have the LS back on the road tuesday or wednesday.:D

front control arm? I couldn't find one anywhere for less than like 500. So I bought one of a low millage wreck, for 75 bucks haven't had any problems yet over a year later.

At least its not your only way around. When you say you broke it do you mean you actually broke it or it was just time to replace. Oooohh I know. You drove down Washington Avenue didn't you? Got my right front swallowed by the same pot hole there twice in the same weekend.

Wierdest thing. The ball joint was so loose. I unscrewed it by hand. The control arm got "rounded out" from it being so loose. I drove about 6 miles on the interstate. Exited. I had the window down. Heard the screaching noise from the front. Got out to look. Notice the passengerside front "toed-out" a few inches. Got it to a friends shop a few miles down the road. Got it on the lift. "SURPRISE". Lucky it didn't break while I was driving on the interstate.

whats with the VIP style tag....I just don't see any VIP style at all from the perspective of someone building that specific style to the specific q's and active in the scene...

just saying.

on another note, at least its being fixed so quick and it didnt break while on the highway...had a guy in front of me a few weeks back had his tire fall of...i almost pissed my pants laughing..

I have to agree while his car is very nice, it does not have the styling of od the VIP world. Although maybe he is a very important person....

Thats a crazy deal you got the lower control arm and ball joint for 126.00?

It may be the closed related car to vip on this site but it doesn't really fit the VIP styling Que's. Tipically they are on the ground with very deep wheels mounted as flush to the fender as they can get. Also usually covered in chrome, and the interiors are usually out of this world.

Don't get me wrong he has a sweet ride but just because it is sweet, doesn't mean it fits into that particular catagory of cars.

really would like to know how he did that, lower controls arms for $126. bout to take a fukitol before a night of drinking.

Its more VIP than anyone else on the forum.

vip cars don't have neons

No but seriously, tuck and poke is required, which won't happen on a LS without too much custom work.

I was very fortunate with finding the problem. Before it actually broke on me.

As for the "VIP Style" quote in my sig. I am a member of VIPStyleCars.com. Chrome is a "no, no". I constantly get commits from them about the chrome wheels. They constantly suggest painting the chrome too. Which I did. The lower stance really isn't an issue. Some have mentioned about going lower. But my stance is low enough to pass. I do like the clean VIP look. BUt the VIPstyle interior is not my cup of tea. Plush seats with curtains and pillows. Pass.

SHHHH.... They don't know I have them.;).................

The VIP stance is very aggressive. I don't plan to go that far thats for sure. I like the stance of my LS. Don't plan to change it. UNLESS, some company gives me an air-ride set-up.

Im very intrested on how you got the part so cheap? Do you get a discount? either way thats a hell of a good price for a lower control arm with ball joint.

I need to order my upper control arms but not sure on wich ones to get as of yet.

I think your wheels look clean I like them more now that all the chrome has been color matched they "pop" out more.

Ive been a member there for like the last 2yrs joined and active for about a yr,,,,Ive seen all your threads and even replied to it.....still doesnt change the fact that your cars not VIP styled. The bumper isnt VIP, nor the wheels, nor the stance, nor..well anything, the car is not VIP.....

Do the research and tell me what VIP is to you....

Here's a hint: VIP style is what they label a car outside of the traditional VIP platforms that still exemplify the VIP culture...

My problem is, while I love you car and have bounced things off you, its not at all VIP. From someone active in the scene, taking the scene and applying it to my car as I am, the custom VIP style kit i'm working on, the custom fenders waiting to be finished, exploring having coil overs made, this is all things I'm doing to fit the car into that style..

just because you belong to a forum you can't tag yourself that style, come on seriously, lets be real.when you tag a car VIP style and its not, it waters down the impression of the scene, makes people not understand a car culture for what it really is...

I dont know why people talk about things the have no clue on, like it gives them rep points. The VIP culture is more then just poke and offset, people need to to read up on it before they confuse the EBAY vip scene with the real one....

When its confused from what it is, it takes away from the real cars, pushing the VIP scene hard, trying new things, trying to keep up with the changing culture in Japan, while still defining the US VIP scene..Slapping a VIP tag on anything that's low, WTF I have a slammed b200 with rims...awwwwww :q:q:q:q must be VIP styled,,,,my neighbors daughter has a lowered focus with the home depot lip...thats VIPing out of control....

If you cant see the diffrence in the "vipstyled" and the real VIP and VIP style then get some damn glasses, click your mouse to the vipstylecars site and read...you just might get inspired like I did.

I have an idea. You leave Rollin alone. He is a well respected member on this forum unlike you who has contributed nothing. He came here to vent about an unfortunate situation and you come in freaking out over something irrelevant.

Nobody cares that you can google "VIP car" and dribble out info on how you have been on a forum for two years and are active in "the scene". You still have nothing to show for it. You drive a granny gold gen1 LS on stock 16's

Those things look like the bigger version of the dicast cars you pick up at the register in Walbaums supermarket for $3.99.

Rollin' i hope you never turn your car into a "legit" VIP car.

Really, not even close to VIPStyle. Dude, you crack me up. I haven't been bashed or received any really negative feedback from any of the VIPStyle members. If anything, they have been helpful with tips and suggestions. You post a lot of chit for someone rolling in a STOCK LS. If you think you know so much about what is and isn't lets see your work on your LS. Put up or STFU. Let your ride do the talking.:p

Few of the commits I have received from VIP members. Good and bad.
"If executed proper, it will be sick and a head turner."
"Car has lots of potentional bro. Only things I'd change is the wheels. Have something a bit more aggressive."
"Always wanted to see one of these done up. I don't love the kit, but to be honest I don't know what your option are."
"Are you considering a more aggressive stance with the new wheels?"
"As for the front, if there was a way to straighten the bumper around the grill without messing up the mounting points and have the bumper a little less "busy" the front end would look legit to the style."
"sorry btu that bumper doesn't look good at all to me, anywho have fun modding the car."
"Car looks good. the changes you made have definitely moved it in the right direction from what I remember it being on LVC."
"I think new wheels would kill it."
"I think removing the chrome and a nice set of wheels it has potential."
'Suspension FIRST. Seriously. That alone will take it up a notch."
"lose the chrome trim and drop the car down."
"O'man:slam"

WOW!!!! They really hate my LS. Don't think it is worthy.:p

BTW I posted a little topic on VIPStylecars.com about your little rant and to get there opinions of my use of "VIPStyle" on my sig. Lets see if they think the way you do. Oh God of VIPStyle cars. The great one that knows everything about the VIP scene because you live it....
