Brakes

I thought about posting this earlier but thought I should wait to see how they did over time. We installed these on the Mark about 1 1/2 years ago. ---- http://www.ebay.com/itm/221021255179?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 --- Now I cant swear its the same seller but I'm pretty sure its the same 36 vane rotors and pads. But I have been very pleased with them and they have held up over time. I ordered a set for the 98LSC. I'm not trying to talk anybody out of Cobra 13" Brembles but my 93 Mark stops close to the 03 Cobra with the Brembles. And they are much lighter and that is why I thought I would try them. I haven't had to do any high speed panic stops but I have slowed it down gradually from 120 mph many times. And a few lower speed panic stops that happen in every day driving.

I want some of those real bad Maybe at tax time next year. Just noticed today that I need rear brake pads. They're scraping

the real advantage to the cobra brakes are in the repeated high speed stop category. "normal" drivers wouldn't see major improvement in the braking dept unless they pushed the brakes kinda hard.
a stock mark with 2 or 3 100-0 stops, you will see what i mean.

These are much better than any stock Mark VIII,s I've driven.

I have yet to feel a brake shimmy with my setup.


There is just NO replacment for the increased swept area and mass of the cobra setup.

Well I got the rotors and pads set and installed them on the 98 LSC and they work fine but I now know they are not same set that are on the 93. These are the ones on the 93 ---- http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRNT-RR-4-E...pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr ---- They cost a little more but I think I like them a little better.

any pictures of the new brakes on the 98 lsc yet don?

Not to date but I will. The ones on the front of the 93 have slots with diamond shapes at the ends. plus they have six slots and side rows of drilled holes. The new set I just bought and installed on the front of the 98 have 8 sets of drilled holes and 4 slots, and a normal radius end on the slots. Both sets have six and six in the rear.

i will definatly be looking into some better brakes here before too long. the other night when me and a few cars were comparing how fast they were to each other, for 2-3 hours, constantly coming down from 80-90 mph to the speed limit. I could DEFINITELY feel the brakes getting hot and having a little trouble.

When we first but these brakes on the front of the Gold 93 I only bought them for the front. Since I liked them and planned on buying another set for the Black 98 I got a front and rear set. The plan was to but the rears on the Gold 93. We are now installing the new 4,200 stall converted in it. It also needed a new set of 26 - 11.5 - 17 M/T Street ET's on the back. So we decided to install the rear brakes also. So I got picture of the new ones on the rear and one of the old ones on the front.
