I have a 97 LSC I changed the front and rear pads and rotors a couple of weeks ago. I feel stupid asking considering I went to school to be a mechanic but I've bleed the brakes about 5 times now and when the car is running it still has no pedal, when the car is off it does. I also changed the rear calipers because they were frozen. I even changed the master cylinder even though I didn't think it was going to fix it. The only thing I can think of is that there is still air in the lines I just thought someone with more knowledge me might be able to help because I'm just really frustrated with it now.

I really want to get this problem fixed so I can take it to the track before the end of the month or else I have to wait till next spring to take it.

You prolly have air in the ABS module. Someone on here knows how to get it to cycle, other then that the dealer has the tool to turn it on for bleeding. A way around that is having a brake fluid tool that fills from the caliper pushing the fluid to the resivoir. They are very cool but a couple hundred bucks.

Why do you think the rear calipers were frozen?

Did you bleed it in the correct manner. The marks cross. Right rear - left front. Left rear - Right front. As far as activating the abs, you either use a tool to turn it on, or you can make a panic stop which will activate it.

Panic stop- mash on pedal that will probably do the trick. You'll probably just have to keep fing with it.

yeah the does have that they just use their scan tool I thing its called the IDS. I actually just put the car in drive with it up on the jack stands and let the traction control go on a couple of times, I think the traction control uses abs at speeds under 30 MPH correct me if I'm wrong, then I bleed the brakes one more time and now the brakes are working fine I don't know if thats what fixed it or if just bleeding the brakes one more time did it but there mint now so I'm happy now I can go to New England dragway and see how my TC and 4.10's work out
