See if I can upload a pic from my phone.. anyways, just used some sheet metal, aluminum.. cut and bent it all up, got some nice hex cap bolts.. blah blah blah..

Edit : Uploads disabled via phone..

great box, why didn't I think of that one sooner.............dun dun dun

On a serious note, dont you already have a heat shield? The hood does a pretty good job of sealing the filter with the heatshiel. Dont know if this is what you did since your pics aren't up, but I guess you could seal it up better by putting an actual lid on the top of the heat shield.

Man you guys are all so critical on here.. :p

Yes my FIPK came with a shield, I made a bolt on lid, well, bolt on after you drill some holes, its hanging in the basement right now with some fresh paint but heres the test fit from early last night before I got drunk.

The box is just sitting in there by the way, I dont even think the hood would close with how its sitting in those pictures, it mounts lower than that.

this is why your the forum alcoholic. :D

it sure seems like every thread of your either starts this way or ends this way! lol

so your hood wasn't good enough for ya huh?

I like to drink and work on my LS.. :D

The hood traps in too much heat, Im going the way of Andrizzle and removing that cowl type deal in the rear of the engine bay to help vent hot stagnant air.

Heres the finished product albeit not on the LS yet.

last night before I got drunk.

I ALMOST quit smoking cuz of those nasty ass Marlboro Smooth's, luckily my senses kicked in and tolled me to go back to Newports, that looks killer good job

Looks good.

I agree, the air under the LS's hood gets very hot! BTW I have my cowl back on, I never cut into it... If I had a spare one I totally would hack into one and try and rig up some type of venting.
