Box carpeted

Carpeted the box today. Wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Here's a quick pic of it back in the trunk.

It even sounds better, now that there is a good seal between the port and box.

Will try to take a video tomorrow.

And yes, I will be painting the screws black that hold the port in.

Thanks, man. The local hardware store didn't have painted stainless steel screws, and I hate usingthe cheap zinc ones.

BlackLS06- on the rare occasion I need to get in there, yes I do have to remove the box. Takes about 90 seconds.

They have a latex backed version too, but that one was only 48" wide. I think the latex backed would've been easier to match seams up since it doesn't stretch.

Yeah, iirc it was around 22 shipped for 2 yards. Oh well. The black carpet (which I bought locally) was 20 and change. So no biggie to me.

$16.99 shipping for 4 yards of carpet ($25.00). It is bit steep. Thats how they get you to purchase $98 to get the free shipping. But i dont see anything i need but the carpet.

Dont want to buy a carpet that will look completely different so if this one is approved by Pektel then its probably good enough for me. I may end up purchasing some 6 1/2's too.

Hey Pektel, how did you find this carpet? I think i remmember you were gna ask the ebay box builder what he uses? If it is then its a good match.

ohhhh there is a sub box in all those pictures, the trunk is so dirty that i missed that the first couple of times what have to been haulin back there Pete? a load of dirt? dead hookers maybe? a dirty shovel to bury said hookers? :shifty:

Whatever it was, it got dirty over late fall/winter last year and keep forgetting about it til I open the trunk.

The Ebay Custom Box builder does use the carpet from parts-express. It's a near-perfect match.
