Boiling Coolant?!

Searching would have gotten all the info the OP needed. But meh *rolls a blunt* I have never worked on an LS because where I am living the only people I see driving them are soccer moms and guys that have their hair cut like Pauly D's. They go to the dealership for everything. If the OP didn't know he needed to bleed the system, he really had no business taking the T-stat out in the first place.

I was waiting to see how long it was going to take a mark owner(assuming by your avatar) "visiting" the LS section to get to their true agenda, to slam an LS owner for being an LS owner.

It was not a matter of if, it was simply a matter of when.

I am not slamming any LS owner. I merely stated that the peeps that own them in my town are soccer moms and the occasional jersey shore wannabe. I say this, the jersey shore wannabes think that there LS is alot faster than it actually is. The LS is nice, its just not nice enough for me. Too slow and too many doors.

Fair enough. It is kinda like me not liking the mark since it looks like an Oldsmobile Aurora minus 2 doors and has an interior as dated as the overall look of the car. I will gladly sacrifice some speed to feel as if I am in a car that looks as if it is not 10 years old even though it is. LS styling jumps all over the mark every day of the year.

Glad we had this little bit of sharing.

Your entitled to your opinion. Truth is I bought my first mark just for the teskid block to build for a stang. The one I own now was too clean to pass up. So I built a nice little sleeper. I like being able to dispatch all the mustangs and camaros around town. I also get alot of compliment on the interior and exterior. I don't drive it unless it is nice outside but when I take it out I get a compliment every time. When I said the LS isn't nice enough for me, I meant as a daily driver. I looked at getting one, but the weak 3.9 and the exterior just didn't do it for me. I like my 300c a lot better. The hemi is a lot more reliable and the exterior is way better. The interiors are about the same IMO. I like alot of your guys LSs, they are just not for me. I own the mark because its clean and a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Philly the weak 3.9 (which is really 4 Liter) makes the same power as a stock teksid block. Its also 32 valve and DOHC So i dont know why you keep rambling on about it.....its physcially smaller and makes more power per cubic inch. In reality its a stronger motor. Just doesnt have the aftermarket unfortunately. But stock vs stock they are the same. And when Alax gets his back we will see just how much it makes with turbo.

Unless you have a built engine/forced induction...your car is not faster than mine and i wish you were local because i would run you and embarrass you. Majority of us didnt buy the LS for the engine...we bought it for everything else. Also i dont know how many miles your engine has but if its not rebuilt its most likely tired and not making the power you think it is either.

300s are everywhere and bland....theyre also wide and bulky and dont handle well at all. The LS handles like a dream compared to it. The only good looking ones are the new generation SRT8's and even then they are big hogs.

Inside and out it looks much more modern than any mark and is loaded with many of the features that you mark owners crave. We also dont have to worry about the air ride failing just the coils.

The LS looks more like a family car than a mark does but has performance to back it up. I try to get along with mark owners and give props but its posts like yours that make it hard to do so.

Where to start. The 3.9 is weak because of plastic in the engine. My car is so far from stock its not even funny. My most recent kill was a srt 8 jeep. But when it was stock save for gears and 300lb diet, I destroyed a buddys 3.9 LS. I also have a early 93 which were the most aggressive, which doesn't matter now. I won't go into all the mods, but 3.73s fully built motor with isky split pattern cams, ported and polished heads, 3200 stall, timing advanced 12 degrees, underdrive pullies and electric water pump. Oh and a true cold air intake not a cone filter sucking in hot engine air like I see on every LS here. I also weight about 300lbs less than stock and I have no extra options like sunroof, cd changer, etc.

sorry phone double posted. As far as the 300c you guys not liking them is your opinion man. I will say this no stock LS would ever embarss my mark when it was stock. Its a fact.

Cool. Nice mods and thats nice that you raced an suv and won. And just because you raced one LS doesnt mean you are all faster than all. You know theres many factors such as driver and traction. And a properly running engine.

Still doesnt excuse why you need to come into the LS section and talk trash. As if we cant afford marks....i could have bought 5 marks with what my LS cost or built one highly modified mark and it still wouldint touch the value of my car.

Matter fact there is a red LSC right here in my apt complex which im sure the guy would sell if i offered him 2K. But do not want.

yes it is our opinion but a fact is that marks are not fast stock...sorry but try again. Theres more to a car than just pure speed. If i wanted pure speed i would not be driving an LS.

I notice you tend to focus on the performance side of the LS vs Mark debate. While I have may have no choice but to concede in that area, I see that you had to bring your 300c into the discussion to offset that the LS looks better than the Mark.

Interesting diversionary technique.

My 98 lsc was slow compared to my 93. I also never said LSs were cheap. Don't put words in my mouth. The main reason I bought it was price was right. I mean 4gs for a 300hp car with 50,xxx miles. The LS is weak off the line IMO. They seem quick in the upper rpms. When my 93 was stock I would say from a roll a LS could hang. When I first had my 93 I kept up with a 05 GT stang from a dig to 55. I can see an LS beating a gen2 off the line. IDK maybe my 93 was a factory freak. I do know it was way faster than my 98. So much so I sold the 98.

Again your opinion. The 300c just seemed better to me than the Ls. I think the Mark looks way better than the Ls or the 300. I am a horsepower freak. That is what I tend to lean toward. I think the Ls is trying to a beamer, which isn't a bad thing. I just don't see how anyone can compare a mark to an Ls. They are way too different in the looks department.
