Today was dynotune day for the Blue Flame. :D

The location was Rodeheavers Hot Rod Shop in PA, about 45 minutes from home. The tuner(s) was Rob and Don Lasota from LaSota Racing out of OH.

Several pulls were required to make Don satisfied and prior to the heatsoak setting in the car saw numbers like 315ish RWHP with around 330 RWTQ. A couple attempts were made to tweak the shift points while on the dyno and Rob wanted to see if there was any difference with the cutouts open. :shifty:

The final pull registered 306 RWHP and 313 RWTQ.

After a road test, we upped the shift points on 2 of the 4 chip positions and did some more road testing. The new Nitto 255s wouldn't hold from a WOT launch and the resulting wheelspin made it difficult to judge at times - but from a roll, I decided I liked the higher shift points.

Pics and a couple videos can be found here.

< just to let you know.... i am HIGHLY jealous.... very sweet man car looks awesome and hope she is awesome at the track for you...

Thanks, I need to quit being lazy and take the good camera instead of relying on the BlackBerry. Indoors and video are not it's strong points.

You have built yourself a beast of a Mark Driller... love the color combo too!

Thanks. :)

I thought you disliked blue? LOL

Now that the car has been tuned after the heads and cams, it feels even stronger than before. Now I just need to set myself up with a tuning package to work with the shift points and TC lockup at the track. ;)

So what were the numbers corked vs uncorked?

It was technically a wash. The lines kinda crossed up and down the entire curve. But I have shown consistently at the track they are worth 0.05 to 0.1 in the ET. I need to get a delay timer for them to go with the WOT switch.

Thanks guys. :)

The cams...

The cams are custom "Bullet" cams hand picked by Ron @ Fox Lake. A 216/216 duration @ 0.050, lift of 0.425/0.425 with a separation of 113* if I read the card right.

I'm surprised that is relatively mild from what I researched and ended up with(we'll see how they work out if I ever get the car up and running again).

Same with me, that's not necessarily what I would've picked either. I deferred the cam choice to the pro after I told him what my expectations were.

Good stuff, JP. Look forward to seeing it down in Georgia come November!

You know I'll be there! :D
