I was just curious has anyone seen any blackouts for the headlights of a 97' mark?... either front or back?...

there was that guy who cut his open and painted them black,he re-sealed them and had a leak,so he reopened em and re-resealed them. He hasn't had any trouble since that i've heard. I plan on doing that to mine but not anytime soon.

I think you can use window tint or mold your own,i use to go to ace hardware and get smoked plexiglass and blackout my headlights this was on 80's camaro's and monte carlo's that had a flat headlight bucket but you can try to heat it up and mold it to fit a mark

I have wanted to do this as well, but just have not taken the time. Here is a pic of a car with the headlights blacked out... at least on the sides.

Nope... the car is not mine. I think he is from St Louis.

Thanks for the tip on the front bumper... I like it. Also like the deep dish wheels.

yeah thats one baaad car i found a site that he did/does belong to i think it was mark.org i could be wrong, but that is deffinately one awesome mark, one of the very best i've seen.

that bumper has a cobra look to it.. plus the mouth is wide open.. good for jamming a huge intercooler into..

i was gonna ask my body guy to see if he could use a mercury marauder front bumper ...and cut and splice the bottom half onto a gen1 front... i think it would look BADA$$ !!

I havent met the guy, but all us stl guys are crazy, we got one down here with an 03 swapped (phreakness) and this guy... then thers me :)

he is on markviii.org his user name is Blue T. the hood scoop is hand made by him, and the front bumper is half mark VIII and half grand am. its not a ranger bumper. he also hand made the small wing on the back of the car and the wheels are a 19/20 combo and he had to bore out the camber holes extensively to make the car come into alignment correctly because of how low it is.
here is a few more of the car. here is a quote right out of his post from the other board:

" thank you mattcorby, the front bumper wasnt a kit,the lower half came off a 97 pontiac grand am,took a little work but it fits,do a search on
NEW FRONT BUMPER AND DRIVING LIGHTS,it will show more. "

here is the post after he did it.

That is a beautiful mean looking Mark VIII! Not a ranger bumper though. I would like to know how long it took him to fab that up? If only Ford/Lincoln would have done something like that from the factory.

Dude shows you how he made that bumber and hood over on the other page and this is not hard to do.I would practice on some old mark bumbers that were cheap and see what you can come up with maybe a 88-92 mustang gt lower front spoiler might work or work with clay then fiberglass or foam and shape your own,try it out on a model car, closest model to a mark is the sc thunderbird

I think i like gen2's now. that smokin hot. If i could get tht bumper for my gen1 i would black the crappy lights right out and just use those fogs with hids for them. BTW those are my wheels but mine are 20/20 and if i told everyone one the price i paid you all would be mad. lol

Yeah, That does make a gen 2 look mean! If they all looked like that then I would want one too!

I really want to try this because I think it makes the car look A LOT more aggressive!

yeah.. i think ill post a photoshop idea in artwork thread.... to see if someone can photoshop the bottom of a marauder bumper with those foglights onto a gen 1
