Blacking it out! Maybe?

o yea, if youre getting the rear window re-tinted, see if the can take the 3rd brake light out and tint the full window instead of spraying it. thats how i had mine done and it looks great in the day and you can still clearly see the light when i hit the brakes thru the 5%, at all times of day

^ agreed, when i had mine done, the guy took out the light with out me even asking. i did put brighter bulbs in to make up for the tint. and if they wont, take it out your self, its pretty easy

i was going to get an led bulb for it, but i didnt want to buy the pair off vled cuz they were pricey. but i am gettin tag lights in the mail soon :)

Thats exactly what I was thinking you fellas read my mind. Car has this ugly purple-ish color to the tint so I am getting the whole thing redone and, like you said, going to have them take out the 3rd brake light and do the whole window.

What kind of brighter bulbs did you manage to find?

I got the grille and the foglights done now just waiting to tackle the headlights tonight, I have the dreaded black glue in mine :(

Mine might just look darker because of the crappy lighting in the shop there, Ill post up some pics in the sunlight once I get it all done.

Ordered some black pinstriping for the sides that should be in tommorrow, then its just rims.
Ill have some pics of the front up in the morning unless I destroy the headlights...

Lol get on it! grill comes off with like 4 10mm nuts and a pliers. Looks like your vertical bars are black already so that makes it easy. they were kinda a pain to scuff but not too bad. I taped all the factory paint on mine off and just did the chrome :)

Haha. I kno I need to. My grill disconnects into two pieces so I could do that chrome seperately. I just don't want the bumpers to look "off".

hmm ya ill prolly go with lamin-x or actually have them tinted(if when i get windows darker, would be nice but imo unnecessary here in mn (got about the darkest legal there is i believe, not sure what current standards in mn are right now) just would look nicer if i get a new paint job.
i did some crap ms paint and did one part of the idea. will post a pic later of the reverse.
appreciate the comments. i bought it from a business executive who took very good care of it from 20k to 94k, ive simply tried to maintain a decent lvl of care to it.

The pass. side looks lighter or more yellow but it is a reflection from the sodium lights they are the same color.

Looks pretty good I thought.
Picking up the 1/2" black pinstripe today to get the side window trim chrome tonight, then will be pretty much done besides rims. Shoulda put in angel eyes when I had the headlights apart, oh well think the plastic dust gave me a sore throat lol.

dnyce, Can you just take the bumper chrome off or do you need to paint it and put it back on?

Geldtron- I bet for the price of that lamin-x A tint shop would do them too. I mean it aint too much to do a whole car really. What part of MN are you from?

What kind of pinstripe are you getting for the window trim? That'd exactly what I'm trying to do with my LS. Post pictures up once you're done with the window trim please! :) I want to see how that turns out

I've heard there are clips that have to be removed by takin off the bumper. I'm not sure tho.

I broke down and bought the 150' roll of 1/2" 3M black solid pinstripe from my local auto parts store. It was 40 something dollars, about twice what I spent on all the other blacking out options. The chrome trim is about 5/16 along the top, 7/16 along the bottom, and 1/2" in the back seat window uprights. So alot of trimming will happen unless it looks good as it lays? Ill post results about 5am.

That 1/2 inch pinstripe worked out pretty perfect actually. Only area that gave me trouble was the back of the top piece on the rear doors where it takes a very sharp hook. The tape was too wide to take it without a little wrinkle but i laid it along the inside and used a heat gun to warm it up to fit and it worked pretty good.
Got crappy cell phone pics but all in all it turned out ok. Alot better than painting it. Just time consuming to get straight. The bottom edge is slightly rounded and about 1/2 inch exactly so that took alot of time to lay straight. The top edge is smaller so I just centered it and didnt trim it.

Here you can see it laid pretty nice,
Words of wisdom Pek!

No thats not a scratch.

Now for some "Rims"...
