I don't know if anyone here has tried this yet, but this is my attempt at it. I plan on rechroming the buckets again, it's not sticking well to the black paint. My intention is to do the headlights and markers.

Those headlights were so dim to begin with, I don't know how you could see anything with them blacked out....

The reflectors are chrome, they are reflecting the black inside the housing... This is how modern smoked headlights are made. The parts that are black don't reflect any useful light.

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were going to black out the rest too

Dan, I'd like to know how you plan on re-chroming the buckets. Do you know of a secret to re-chroming our headlights? 'Cause I sure would like to know.

Sounds like he used the chrome brite tape on the reflector part..then painted the top and bottom areas that dont actually reflect anything.

How do they get CHROME to stick to plastic? I thought you needed electricity a positive and a negative to make the chemicals stick. I can't find a chrome place that can plate plastic.

Finished the reflectors last night, that is TEDIOUS!

Here are some more pictures! I haven't snapped the lens back on yet, as I didn't have any clear or black silicone in the garage.

CE bad lts.jpgCElts bad 2.jpgDan with the bubble type lense they'll look great waiting to see them Chrome-brite tape gets the thumbs down from me. Bubble type lenses ok Clear lenses NG! Uncovered the CE today and am I mad. They were real nice when I put the cover on a couple weeks ago. I got those Gen 1 LSC's and I have a call into a plater in PA. I'm not going to take a chance with sticky tape, too much time and they turned to crap. The 95 still looks good after 2 years. The lenses hide all the evils

Thanks for posting that. I was getting ready to do that very thing to some 2nd gen headlights, but won't waste the time after seeing that.

LED3.jpgThe lts were good since 11/2012 The car was outside covered (5 layer cover) for around two weeks needed garage to work on the 95 We've been having a heat wave here in new England, and mother nature did her thing I just got some 96LSC lights(clear lense) for tne 95 wifes DD and I'm not going to risk using tape w/clear lenses. The tape worked for a long time until it got left in MN oven Pic from 11/12 OH boy another project
