BI-Xenon Projectors Retrofitted into foglights

A few more pics. I finalized all the wiring last night and they are installed now. I just have to adjust the height to where I want them to shine light and the project will be finished. The angels eyes are pretty bright. Will snap some day time pics to see how well they'll do with sun light. The projectors throw good amount of light and have a nice cut off. For those gen1 guys, or pektal, looking for an easy projector retrofit, this will work with decent light output.I haven't really seen the hid kits on a halogen headlight in person so I can't say if these are better than that set up, but I think they would be, just a guess. The color of them seems to be a little off on the driver side fog. The passenger side seems to match my hid headlights good. Maybe it had not warmed up enough or its just a hid that doesn't match oem 4300k. On the pic with the fogs on, they seem to be the same color, but I will see for sure tom night. I aimed the fogs a little high to show the light the projectors put out, then I turned on the headlights to compare. They compete with them. They may not be top notch projectors but they seem good enough to use as headlight projectors from that pic. Well, here you go. Enjoy.

Looks good. You should get further away from the garage though. I am willing to bet those fogs are aimed HELLA nigh annoying the piss out of everyone.

Yep. He intentionally has them aimed high right now.

That looks good. Is one of them yellower?

Also looks like great light output once u aim them.

Nice mod shaping up

Yeah I aimed them high so you could see more of the light on the wall instead of the ground. They are a lot lower now but I still haven't set them to where I want them. I just re-installed them after the finishing touches and left them low but dont know how low.

Thanks guys.Went to sleep pretty late a few times with this one. It was fun and I learned a good amount.

also noticed the slight color difference.. are the digital ballasts? if not then the that could explain the light difference

Yeah thats is what I was showing in the pictures. The one on the drivers side appears to be more yellow than the one on the right. No they aren't digital, and I have read about hids not being color matched to each other. I may find some digital ballast to get them to match my headlights and each other.

Jesus, they are projectors. Look at the earlier pictures.

Oh and I will also be wiring them to the HI beam wire on the headlights to make the bi-xenon funtional. Anybody have another idea of how to make it functional without having to turn on the hi beam on the headlights?

Whoa, you could totally just drive with the fogs without your headlights on. and i forgot who said it earlier, but he wouldnt blind anyone because you can clearly see that his projector beam is lower than his hid beam. And the hid beam is decent cutoff to begin with. but yeah, the color difference kinda bugs me a little but man this is really good stuff that you came up with here. good job

Not true in the least. When he took the pics, he aimed them up. If he were to be further away from the garage, the light would be even higher.

But, he did it just for the pics... so my bad entirely.

Exactly. I drove around the block to see how high they would light and I was lighting up 40 foot trees up ahead. You have to aim projectors straight or a little lower than its "eye level" so the beam does not climb up the farther away it gets. I forgot this and was struggling to aim them higher but then realized I didn't need to. I only need them to shine about 1ft of the ground, or however high the fogs are, so they light straight.

Me next. I found another LS owner in town here. She just bought a new set of headlights, and is going to give me her old set (they were just cloudy. wetsanding will make them good as new) for blacking out her amber lenses in the headlights.

So next thing will be to mount these in the headlights and see how they look. I want digital ballasts though.

Great work, Alax. Looks amazing.

I just ordered some digital ballasts last night and see if it fixes the problem. She? Nice find. ;)

lol. I got a girlfriend of 5 years, dude. I've known the girl for quite some time actually. Haven't talked to her in years, but is a friend on facebook. imagine my surprise when she puts up pics of a nice charcoal gray LS (except it has a set of chrome sand dollar 20's on it). So I showed her mine (hehe).

Since when is it against the rules to show someone your LS? Now she wants to trade wheels.
