Ive been working on the '06 for the past couple of days while the rest of the island trys to regain power and find gas... im about to begin tearing down the console to install the double din and center console speakers... i also have a few "goodies" to wire through the center console... :D

...question is what is the best way to take it apart?

I could remove everything in my '02 almost in my sleep, but the "ash tray" and shifter is different in the gen IIs... i know how to get the radio out via the center vents...im taking about everything from the radio down and back to the arm rest. In the first gen you pull off the ash tray surround and its pretty simple from there...does this still apply?

thanks

Pretty much. Remove (by pulling) the trim around the ash tray and shifter.
Remove the ash tray. Then the climate controls and radio.
Pull up on the cup holder section to remove it.
