We've established this already.

can I give the ticket to my brother as a gift YES

Where did I say you can't give the raffle ticket to your brother, again? I must have missed that.

can my brother claim said prize YES

Where did I say he can't CLAIM the "prize"? Anyone can "claim" the prize for someone else. What makes it illegal is the fact that as you, yourself have admitted, he's picking it up for you. You cannot do that. Sorry.

can my brother give me the gun YES

Where did I say he can't give you the firearm? Hell, he can give you any of his possessions he wants. But by your own admittance, you bought the ticket and YOU won it. This is where you screwed up, if you want to get technical. But you go on and take the Tennessee FFL dealer's word for it. See how far that will get you.

do I have to register this gun NO

What is this obsession of yours with registration? Do you even know what's entailed in a LEGAL firearm purchase? Seriously, get off the "registration" bandwagon.

If I remember, I'll place a nice phone call to a Federal entity's office in Little Rock tomorrow. Just 'cause I like ya... or maybe it's because I don't like idiots. Take your pick.

 he is back !!!!! and wont go away

this is worse than getting rid of a roach infestation in a cheap rental home!

If I didn't like roaches in my "cheap motel"... I would just move

Unregistered guns don't exist, and you shouldn't talk about things that don't exist, like religious deities

i know i was just trying to get him all riled up again.

Obviously, you have no idea of whom you're trying to get riled up. Anyone here with more than 5 brain cells knows I don't get riled up. Had you pulled your head out of your ass and searched, you'd have realized this. You're not my first rodeo and you sure as hell won't be my last.

i warned him to just go away he would not so i decided to waist the better part of an evening :q:q:q:qing with him its fun and i replaced my bad idler pulley while doing so.

You... warned me? Holy schit! I done gone been warned! Zoikers! What will I do now?

Grow a brain, skippy.

hope he will never fock with me again or i will continue to talk him into circles

You go ahead and keep hoping. Let me know how that turns out for you.

I tried to be nice and explain the laws to you. Hell, I even tried to warn you about the felonies you're about to commit with your "borrowing" the rifle from your brother. But, it would seem, you think you know better because you talked to some FFL.

Either way, the record stands. What you're trying to do (as per your original plans) is illegal. I'm sure the nice folks at the BATF will be interested in this.
Oh yes. I'm calling them on your behalf. Why? Because I don't like criminals. We'll see who gets riled up more by the end of this debacle. I'm putting my money on you, skippy.

Anyone who keeps this trollfest going this long is riled up, Froggy. You're a good guy, at least as far as internet, and knowing people goes, so don't take me as being too much of an azzhole. But so it seems, either you get a hard on after this stuff and it's your own personal viagra, or it riles you up! No one should waste this much time talking knowledge to people who ignore it. You do this sh*t time after time after time.

Oh, I've been known to enjoy putting the occasional moron in his place around here, so I'm not taking anything you said personally, Mike. As such, I do it time after time.

But me getting riled up? No. Sorry. I don't take this stuff personally.

As far as it being my own personal viagra... I wouldn't go as far as to call it that. But I do enjoy the occasional argument... be it online or in real life.

How bout this...
Grats on a nice win, hope you take advice and do the proper legal steps to gain it, instead of winning 3 hots and a cot

As for the law.... zmt325, you have publicly admitted to being party to a crime in progress. That is by FEDERAL law not TN or AR law. Just so you know there are some people on this board who are law enforcement officers and have a responsibility to act in the event of a crime, so in the future be careful of what you say and where it can get you into serious trouble.

For your knowledge, any state can write any law within the borders of their state. That law may supercede federal law if, and only if, the regulations are more stringent than the federal law it replaces.

What that means is that in this case the federal law prevails. Because both AR and TN's firearms laws are less stringent than federal law. And that means that on this site you have made a public admittance to being a member of a crime (yes, your brother would be charged too). Not only was this a public admittance but it was done with one known police officer present.

Good luck with that AR-15.

As much as im all for justice and dont believe in criminals there are many people in society who are committing serious crimes such as murder and rape and theft.

A guy who posted about winning an AR-15 on a forum....not so much. This thread has really just gone down the drain and most of what was posted in here really wasn't necessary.

I would agree, just making a point that if you are going to post something on the internet you need to be cautious about who is reading it. The FBI, NSA, and various other government organizations are constantly monitoring such things and I would hate for someone to get cornered on something so petty.

Yes they are....i know the FBI has an entire division dedicated to doing online research and they can use filters to find posts from forums that threaten government officials and such.

Just because it's a petty crime, doesn't mean some loser a-hole desk jockey isn't sitting there trying to make him/herself look good to their superiors. there's people in prison right now for doing crimes that are of a lessor offense. Yes this is a public website, for all you know everyone other than yourself is an ATF/FBI agent. You go ahead and keep telling yourself that this is a free country and you can do whatever you want. Just because i took a bullet and some shrapnel doesn't mean your Constitutional Rights will save you from not following the law, unfortunately. I know you've heard it said, that a few can ruin it for everyone...well that's what happened. you wouldn't want some lower form of life individual that's going to try to hide a rifle of that sort from the law so he/she can commit an armed robbery, or run in a school and mow down some kids, right. Well, in order to track weapons to help catch said individuals...please sign on the dotted line.

Good luck with that AR-15.

The only problem is, until he actually commits the crime he's talking about, there's nothing that can be done about it. This can either be viewed as "fortunate" or "unfortunate', depending on which side you are.

Yes, he can give his raffle ticket to his brother. I never argued that. But when he "borrows" it for the next 40 years and something happens... he'll have wished he'd have spent less time arguing here and just spent the $50 bucks for a proper transfer. I say 50 because there are shipping charges involved form FFL to FFL.

Him posting about his winnings is fine by me. But where he screwed up is when he started balking once the laws were explained to him. After all, WTF do some of us know, right? He seems to know everything that has to do with Federal Firearms laws, as evidenced by this post:

will do my brother will be picking it up on monday in the am. i am in Tennessee at home now. the only bummer is i probably wont touch it until mid march. but shat for $10 i will wait a year... i am looking at a 6.8 upper for it now

Either way, no skin off my back. I'm not the one who is trying to circumvent the ATF.

Yes they are....i know the FBI has an entire division dedicated to doing online research and they can use filters to find posts from forums that threaten government officials and such.

They do not. Move along.

Im wearing a tinfoil hat as i write this so they cant read my mind :shifty::shifty:.[/QUOTE]

That only works if you staple potpie pans to your ears.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me
