hey guys, i am going off to college this summer and guess what that means.... yup, 4 years of my poor baby sitting outside! looking to invest in the best cover possible for her to limit damage. any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!

what are your living arrangments going to be like? dorms?

Yes they're dorms. And it will be year round. Mainly when it storms because they get pretty nasty out here in the midwest

I had a Covercraft one for mine that was quite nice. I got an Evolution one as it was great for protecting vs dings as my car was stored with others, a bit heavy for daily use though. I'd get a Noah or maybe a WeatherShield if I took it on/off a lot...

For that much time unatended you will need to do many things. Put stabilizer in the fuel tank, replace the oil, pull out all the plugs and hose down the cylinders with WD-40 then put the plugs back. Get the car off its tires and on blocks but use the suspension points or you may tweek the frame.

For a cover it will be expensive. Get a custom fit chamois cover. That will be about $450. Then over that use an all weather tarp kinda material cover. Dont have to be custom, just get one for a full size. They are about $100. The key is to make sure the tarp like cover is wraped tight around the car and well secured.

Well I can gaurontee she won't sit for long. I can't go more than 48hrs without driving her. I'll check out the covercraft if it was good at fighting of dents. Does the covercraft have wind straps built in or do I need to get some of those too?

i would suggest first checking the community CL for possible roommate listings, see if you can get into a house ( where there would naturally be fewer morons that dont know how to use doors ) unless its required for you to stay at the dorm because of being a freshamn or something like that

Yea its required. And its open campus parking with rocks in places. Its like the scarriest possible place for a nice car

leave it at your parents and get a beater IMHO. even a beater Mark that you could pick up for less than a grand, could always be a nice parts car when youre out of school

I've got an indoor Covercraft and it's got grommets to pull the sides down under with bungee cords or whatever. I'm sure their outdoor ones would too. Covercraft is high quality stuff but not cheap.

I've always thought of getting one and having padding sewn into it for if I'm out somewhere with out cover when it starts to hail.

a hail-damage protection padding in a car cover would be an awesome invention, bet ya could make a $MILLION
