These car demand more then average amount of maintenance.
Not the best choice for a daily driver.
I have done it out of pure necessity not by choice.
Nothing wrong with driving it until the trans dies then move it along to the enthusiast who will want to bring it back around.
After all....You have a Merc most would kill to have.

The compressor will die from pumping up those leaking front bags before that trans gives out.
Its a car no more, no less.

ANY car that is almost 20 years old is gonna require "more than average amount" of maintenance, IMHO. Once you get through the common failures, Mark's are as dependable as any car this age.

My TBird I had to address all the common problems when I first got it, too. That was 7 years ago and it rarely has had issues since then. We drive that car EVERYWHERE daily.

That's the plan, drive it until the compressor or trans gives out and then I will pass it along to someone on here cheap if they want it. The longer I can hold onto it, the more I can save up for a new car.

The Merc is a factor, it's a bit much for me to have 2 hobby cars, I don't have the time with work and all. Hate to have to choose, but you gotta do what's best.

I loved mine when it was my DD. I miss it. Even when its all modded up.... I'm still gonna DD it.

I'm finally back into dding my mark... Drove it in the snow today... Brent, I know you don't want to give up on. The car but it gets hard to keep the same old junk going. I agree with you drive it to the ground and get rid of it for something newer...

Brent, cars like yours are the ones I thrive on for $500 or less. Unfortunately the problems have piled up, and now there are too many and too expensive. If you were close to me, I would buy it.
