In order to get a chip done, I need to let them know the settings I used, but I've not decided exactly what ones to use.
I was wondering what y'all used for settings that have a Baumann kit in your car? I'd especially like to hear from anyone with gears. I am running factory stall conv in it.
I'm thinking lvl 3 for the 1-2; lvl 4 for rest? Or should I stick with all lvl 3 and let the person doing the chip do the rest?
Any input would be great! Thanks.
J.

Depends on his driving skills. Wouldn't want him running sideways down the highway now would we?

I haven't driven in a Level5 Mark, but isn't that a little harsh on the tranny. Too firm is sometimes too much. No?

I've only got measly 3.73's with a stage 5 Baumann. Oh, and a 3000 stall. I think it's pretty much perfect. Passengers sometimes don't like it, but that's their problem, not mine. :p

Interesting.

I have a custom valve body with the jmod and some other tricks done in my vic, shift unbelievably hard, just how I like it.

Well, see that's the problem. I don't want it to hit extremely hard as that does nothing for performance. I do want nice and firm, quick shifts, but not extreme neck snapping.
A chirp in between gears at WOT is fine as long as I'm not just sitting there spinning. I'm running 255 Nitto tires all the way around.
Thanks for the input everyone so far, keep it coming please :)

hmm, I dunno what to do. :(
When I called Baumann earlier today, they said set it for lvl 3A with the mods I have planned for now (gears, chip, stock stall/eng.) It sounded like they were giving me a generic answer though so that's why I'm asking here :)

I would do what he says, It is his kit. You can allways make it bigger and set it higher so start with 3A and see if you like it.

First thing I would do is listen to myself.

You don't want neck snapping. Level5, imho, will be cruel at anything under WOT. But again, I haven't driven in a Level5, so take that opinion for what it is worth.

IMHO, one can always 'overdo it' when it comes to tranny stuff.

You want firm so as to not feel like the tranny is slipping and shortening it's life. Sounds to me like Level3 is right for you, at least to start. As stated before, you can always go for more.

Dude trust me this kit is amazing! Its throttle particular, the harder the throttle the harder the shift. You know how many customers came back to have it bumper to level 5? Alot. Trust me 5 is alive for a daily drive.

With level 5 do you still up the line pressure via ECU or do you keep it stock and just remove the timing retard?

Yes we have run all our programs with this kit at level 5 without issue. Matt Tuminellos is a chipped and shift kit car and ask him how many NOS refils have been through that box.

Its throttle particular, the harder the throttle the harder the shift.

Ditto. On my '93 with a light throttle, the shifts are 'quicker' but nowhere near harsh. If you mash it though, make sure you're on straight dry road. ;)

so if u do a level 5 and then put a shift kit on a tranny with 30000 miles ull be ok is that what your saying? and where and what shift kit would work? please i just finally bought a tranny out a 2003 mustang gt and need advice guys help me out

I think I went with a 3b or so put It in 2 years ago I like it with stock gears in the wet it will spin the tires not chirp spin 1-2 and 2-3 with gears and the LMS chip I will need to go higer like to a 4b or so i think
