I've looked at all the pics you guys have posted, and the cars look stunning - and pretty much perfect. That got me wondering as to whether the outside of your cars are perfect, or do you have a few battle scars on them.

I tried my best to find one that didn't have any dings or big scratches, but even my 06 has some battle scars on her. There's a ding in the lower rocker panel of the left passenger door, and the former owner put a nice deep scratch (90% of it is through all of the paint) down the front bumper that will cost me a pretty penny if I want to fix it.

So, any of y'all got any deep scratches, dents, dings, etc that don't necessary show up in your glamour shots?

I have them. But everytime I see them I get pissed off so I have gotten really good at ignoring them. I have two small dents on the passenger side because that is where the kids bikes are located in the garage. I've been parking outside lately becuase the weather is less of a risk than the kids. Big scratch along the drivers side at the very bottom of the doors. It was there when I bought it. One of these days I'll get it properly fixed, but it requires paint.

My hood, front bumper, and headlights are full of pits and chips from the car's first 100k miles (first owner) of pure highway driving.

Secondly on both sides of my rear bumper, behind each back wheel there is paint chipping off.

I would love a full paint job, it probably needs it. But I am unemployed and in college... $_$

oh sure, i've got my share...
Scuff on rear corner where I backed into the lawnmower (oops :shifty: )
Small but deep scratch on one side where someone door-dinged me (grrr  )
Small paint blemish in front from... unknown. (brake fluid maybe  )
Minor scuffing along the a-pillar where a parking garage arm closed on me (my speedy escape was not speedy enough :D )
Various scratches under the front bumper from steep driveways, curbs, etc. (ehh, it happens  )
And my latest, a nice vertical scratch where I parked a little too close to the garage door and it gouged the rear bumper while opening. (D'OH! :slam )

Right after I filed a claim to get my hood repainted, but before I could bring it to the body shop, some douchenozzle threw womething out his window, and it hit my drivers door. Right on the body line. I'll go take a pic of the damage.

I've got my share. There are 2 that bother. The long scratch on the passenger side on the quarter panel and door (came that way). The passenger side mirror has some paint transfer on it and doesn't move. That happened when some kid in a Honda though he needed my lane more than me. Too bad it ripped off his mirror and gouged the drivers door.

Just look at a pic of my car. It in itself is a battle wound...

sigh... This car is not for the younger folk after all.... Shoulda got that trans am!!! lol

Im' surised how little dings and dents my car has for being 10yrs old though. Half the cars at my complex are destroyed with dents, dings, car accidents never repaired, hitting poles, pipes, parked objects, etc.....suprised these people can't fix their cars up :P

Okay, here you guys go. 3 areas on my car. rust under the paint by the keyhole for the trunk.

Next, the door ding that the PDR guys say they can't get out/won't touch. I'll have to get the door refinished to get rid of it. 700 bucks.:

Lastly, passenger side, missing paint. This will be remedied shortly though, as I have the paint, just haven't got around to doing it.

The car will be getting POR15'ed on all rusty areas underneath, and on a couple other spots (a few areas where rust is starting to form on the door jambs, right by the weatherstrip by the rear wheel wells.

I've got my share. Both mirrors, rear bumper from jerkoffs who feel the need to hit your car before they'll stop while parking, little paint chip on the hood, bubbling of the stock paint on the trunk lid. I'll have to get some pics of them all.

at least new around there. Only downside here is crap winter (salt on roads) and the occassional douschebag parking a a bestbuy or something and slams their door against yours when they get out...I showed that mother f*cker...he was driving a rental but a sprayed teargas throw the crack in his window so I'm sure by the time he came back to the car that it would f*ck him up....did I mention the teargas has the orange coloring to help police locate criminals? :-D

I have some, scratches drivers rear 1/4, rear bumper scratches, front bumper chips from highway driving.

But it does look good in pictures and from 10 feet away :)

As the saying goes, "looks good from far, but far from good"

just some dings on the black part between the doors, and what looks like a run in the paint in the back

my car literally got backed into...so i dont take pictures of that side, its not terribly bad and most dont notice it. i didnt even notice it for awhile.

front bumper is full up of chips. my moms jeep once slid down our driveway into it. i came out and a jeep was on top of my bumper.

Some punk ass kids threw an egg at my car..one egg...and im sure its no other reason besides they were drunk since i have no enemies. so i have a surface scratch on my trunk.

I notice all these things. most other people think i go overboard by calling my car a pos.

the trick is to just take pictures from a far and in dark lighting ;)

Thanks guys - sorry you've got 'em but you're making me feel better. I kept looking at your beautiful rides and thinking "there's no way my '06 is gonna keep up with these guys."

My drivers side fender is all scratched up and dented. Looks like a tire from a bus or larger truck, seeing how you can see where the lug nuts went into the fender. I was parked in Brooklyn on a low traffic street that is 4 cars wide for some reason and the guy still hit my car.

The most important thing for me is that there is no rust on my car. Mostly due to the fact it spent its first 8 years garaged all winter long. I get a little crazy about rust. I know the scratches on the lower doors will start to get some eventually so I go nuts with the wax down there. As soon as I see any I'll take the hit and get it fixed properly.

My lower front bumper has quite a number of chips, though thankfully it's only on the part facing the road that you don't really see.

One tiny chip on the driver-side quarter panel and on the passenger-side sideview mirror housing. Other than that, some very shallow scratches (more marks really) that should buff right out and some peculiar rust spots in the spare trunk well (getting fixed this week).

Now my 98 Cavalier - that's a different story :p Have been spending some time over the last week fixing chips, cracks, scratches and rust spots.

My dad used these guys to remove a dent the size of your fist and it is totally un-noticable. I haven't tried them yet but I do have a couple parking lot dings that I will get them to take out. I just got a new Dodge truck that got dinged the first week (good thing I was not around when it happened or the police would have to get involved to settle me down). I asked the shop manager at the dealership and he said the dent wizard guy will remove small dings/dents for around $50 to $60

I've got stuff too. I looked long and hard to find the cleanest one, but every '05 and '06 I looked at last year had dings. Every. Single. One. It's like people buy 40K cars and don't take care of them or something.

I've got rock dings in the hood. Every LS I've ever seen has these. My theory is that it has something to do with an aluminum hood that makes chipping from flying rocks easier.

Got a small dent in the driver side door you can't ever see unless it's the perfect light & angle.

A small sliver chipped out on the front right corner of bumper.

Some scratches from the keys near driver side key (car was owned by an old person who had remote start but still apparently used their keys 99% of the time).

So basically, mostly everyday driver wear and tear. I used to be anal about that stuff, but unless you're rich you're just making more problems for yourself. Now I just look past the blemishes.

Someone keyed my hood, paint chipping/peeling on the rear bumper, random chips from road debris on mirrors, small dent on passenger front door, drivers front fender lip is missing a chunk of metal thanks to corning to hard, hitting a pothole and being lowered on 20's..
