I replaced my battery in my mark about 2 weeks ago, and this morning while driving to work the battery light came on. The car starts up fine, anyone know the problem. The light never came on before I replaced the old battery.

+1 when ever my batt light comes on the alt is toast
Check the voltage at the alt while its running
Stay away from auto clone durracrap altenators

Yep and after you do replace the alternator, charge the battery first or you stand a very good chance of killing the new alternator. Once the battery is charged with a battery charger, then you should be good to go.If you don't have a charger, take the battery with you and go to AZ and they will put a charge on the battery for you for free. I'm not advising on where to get your alternator. That's up to you. Just saying that the battery will need a full charge on it if you want the best results from the alternator when installed.

Motorcraft would be best to replace with and O'Reilly's will order a reman for you and it is a reman from Motorcraft but they don't normally carry them in stock. They have another brand that's a reman called "Ultima" and it sucks right out of the box.

AZ has remans but they can not help you with one from Motorfract / Ford. They just have Duralast. I have had experiences with all of them. Duralast can be junk out of the box as well. The first one I got from them lasted only two weeks. The one I have now has been in for almost 3 years and have had no problems from it at all. They are iffy out of the box.

You can have yours rebuilt at your local shop, which might be your best bet because you would at least know what's being used for the rebuild, if asked. They should also warranty it too. If you had time to wait, getting one from DB Electrical would be a good choice, with a higher amperage.

The Ultima brand, I went through 3 of those in no time, which is why I asked about the real deal Motorcraft but they had to order it. Took 2 days for them to get it but it was the real thing. Just don't forget to put a full charge on the battery before letting the alt take the heat on it's own.
