I have been aggravated by the record snows that we are getting here in Washington. Had a total of 267 cars/trucks/emergency vehicles stuck in the 2 weeks of snow we got in our neighborhood. I found out only a few days b4 the snow hit that the Bridgestone Blizzaks are back ordered til the 14th of this month. So out of boredom and anger I searched and searched and I believe I finally found something winter for our cars.

They are pretty sweet and easy to use. I have them coming today and just gotta wait til it snows again.

We have some snow here in the mountains that require chains even for 4WD/AWD, our snow is usually gone the next day. You see them on BMW, made in Switzerland, Ultra Sport All Season tiers and Spike Spiders for the 2 time a winter, they work for me. Pricey is subjective and for the convince of on/off both tiers in 30 second that work....pricless.
 
Im sure those socks are for places in Europe that snow so much you never see asphalt 85%+ out of the year. Something I would not use here in the states.

Actually they work fine, they are safer for the roads, easy, and cheap. 70-100 bucks plus 8 bucks shipping is not bad compared to the 500-600 I was gonna have to pay for Blizzaks. Plus for chains..you really want them to break and damage the car?
 
I highly doubt that fiber is going to last more than 5 miles on asphalt.
 
so are you going to drive around with them in your trunk and wait til; you soin out and wreck the car to put them on for traction? Snow tires! And all seasons the rubber compound loses traction under freezing.... you need the winter tires with the winter compound comonly thought to be only better in snow. they are better in Snow, cold, and damn good in rain!

I live near microsoft and my work is 4miles away. I could not go, i could take the buss, but you know on sunday we just had, NO ONE told me it was going to snow. And after work I was pissed cause I was all ready for the gym and couldn't cause the snow was crazy.....I couldn't make it up ANY of the hills that lead to my house cause all the hills are a 80 degree incline and they just wore my LS out b4 I got to the top, had to get my parents to teather my car and I had to be pulled and follow their tracks...I hate SNOW.....I had to miss a week of work and that put me down 1500 bucks...damnit.....
 
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!! 80 degree! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Some of them sure seem it out there! I'll say it again... SNOW TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I tell ya, you don't know how it feel til you get on it. And Like I told you, Blizzaks are backordered and so are the other snow tires for my car. I had to go with an alternative, I'm lucky to of even found these. i'm not as lucky as you to have some already.....
 
what did you go with?


Blizzacks are good, Winter Force are good, and the Toyo whatthe:q:q:q:qevers are supposedly even better

I tried gettin blizzaks but Firestone kept delaying and delaying then finally after Xmas they said "oh we shoulda told you they are backordered til the 14th" I was ready to cuss them out cause they kept delaying me, so I'm like :q:q:q:q them..instead of trying to get any tires ordered I tried researching then found Autosocks. Like I said...it pours snow when I'm at work, don't have tires with me......plus why should I buy more tires for about 500 bucks (how much the blizzaks are) when I'm gonna be buying 19" rims in spring? Waste of money, buddy.....
 
winter tires and rims.... summer tires and rims.... keeps you from wrecking your car which is a real waste of money. I've lived in chicago, NH, and now canada... I know what im saying when I say snow tires are a must
 
I'd be interested to hear SweetPete's report on the Autosock. Please let us know how it worked for you.

Yeah, Seattle does not get much snow, but when it does, everyone loses their minds. Now you can tell the Greenies that global warming is a bunch of bunk!

At 80 degrees you'll need a crane to lift your car to the top... 90 degrees is perpendicular (straight up and down). 10 degrees off isn't much better.
San Fran doesn't even have 80 degree inclines..

I'm sorry but Autosocks no way.. maybe if you happen to be stuck in the driveway on a bit of ice... or you live where there they don't plow and salt the roads...

But in the US cities where it snows.. I don't see where they'd do you much good except to get you off that small patch of ice that you have created by spinning the tires too much because you thought that the faster you make the tires go the better it will be to get out of the snow.. LOL..

And if you've ever heard of Capital Hill or Queen Ann Hill here in Washington, where I live all the hills are like them

Remember in the news the 2 buses hanging over the freeway during our snow storm? Ya...it's that bad 24/7 when snow hits.....Just it was 2 buses so it was worth showing on the news I guess.....
 
You could save money and go to your local harward store to buy some screws. Get out your drills and go to town making your own studded tires. I can't tell you they won't go flat but it's worth a shot LOL.
 
well already bought my autosocks, but if you're plan is good you should try it and let us know the progress it makes :-D

Hope you didnt buy it cuz you saw that video.

Who the :q:q:q:q drives like that and expects to get out of anything when they CLEARLY are just romping on the gas.

If they are under 100$, preferably closer to 50$ i say give them a try. If they are over 100$ thats almost 1 snow tire for the rear.

I run Yokohoma Avid TRZ tires. they have been decent in the snow. still have issues hear and there.
 
queene anne hill..... you live there you have money! pricey section of town thats for damn sure!
