1997 Mark VIII
Will be okay for 10-15 min of driving then display say's transmission overheating ,smoke comes from underneath Then tranny begins to slips until I go into Low gear (2) Fluid level ok Please help this is a 1997 Mark VIII.
Any help will be nice

my b&m cooler was right around $100. The fluid and filter for the trans will cost about $100 as well.
 
Doubt it will help.
Trans sounds shot to me.

Drop the trans pan and look at fluid color, and for chunks of stuff that shouldn't be there before you buy anything.
 
A lot of things can cause problems like you described, adding a cooler and flushing the fluid probably will not work:( Bad converter, pump, EPC, and a ton of other things. I would look at a fluid pressure problem, pump, EPC, or valve body issue, most likely there is some major damage by now.
 
Unless he broke the line and it is spraying all over the exhaust.

But I doubt it if he says the fluid is full.
