When I press the lock button on my factory remote, lights flash twice. When I press the lock button and the doors are open the lights flash a few more times. Any idea why???

It is letting you know that you have something open.

It will also double horn sound if you double tap the button.

Single horn + flash = armed and everything is shut
Double horn + multiple flash = something is open (trunk, door, hood)

if you think thats crazy, try holding down the unlock button for five seconds :)

Whew. Thought the thread title was autosocks for a second.

just did it and it was pretty  Not sure how functional that would be...Any ideas on that?

It's great! When the car's been baking in the summer sun, you can air it out before getting in.
Unfortunately you can't roll them back up via the remote :(

But you can stick your key in the lock, turn to the right, and hold that position to roll them all up.

with my viper 5701, i set it up so that i could, because if i leave my windows down on a sunny day and it starts raining an hour later (which happens more than you would think here in michigan) i dont have to run out to roll them up

rolling them down on a hot sunny day as your walking toward the car to let out all of the stored heat so i dont get heat stroke

how much does it cost to buy/install a viper alarm. Also how much is a keyfob from lincoln dealer i have a 2000 ls and never have had a fob.

Yeah, that is handy; but sometimes I'm at the office and I notice it's starting to rain, it would be great if I could just roll up the windows from the remote than have to run downstairs and out to the parking lot and stick the key in the door.

Also, when you tell your friends "Hey, check this out!!" and roll em down via remote, but then you have to walk up and use the key to put them back up, it takes away from the coolness factor slightly :D

Thats' why I only do it when i am going to the car to leave.

One of these days, I intend to get around to rigging a circuit to automatically close all the windows when rain is detected. It shouldn't be that hard to do, I just have a lot of things on my to do list. I live a few cities away from the rainiest city in the country.
