I just wanted to give you guys all a heads up. Advanced claimed Motorcraft is discontinuing the motorcraft fuel filter for our car. I went ahead and purchased a few for myself so I'm not stuck with a off brand crap filter down the road.

You might all want to consider buying a few for the future. There were only 5 available within a 100 mile radius of me, just to put into perspective the scarcity already in place.

Hope this helps you guys. :)

A fuel filter is a fuel filter. It's not like an oil filter where brand is really important... I have Fram fuel filters in my 98 LSC they work just as good as any other brand...

Oh.....well then if you're a brand whore like myself ;) you might want to buy these up before they're gone. That way all other fellow brand whores can feel at ease knowing that the brand they so adore shall adorn their car in all it's glory. Or something to that effect :)

They may be discontinuing the part number, that is a replacement will take its place. I would find it odd that they would discontinue a filter that I am pretty sure is used on a great many Fords.

Well if anyone would know the fact Max would have the info on the availability of fuel filters for the Mark VIII ...

I agree there must be more than the Mark VIII that uses that filter.

But I wouldn't use Fram anything on my cars ..

Fram sucks...

Seriously though I really doubt they would discontinue a filter... and I doubt even more that it is a Mark VIII only filter...

Please share with us exactly why the Fram fuel filter sucks. Or are you just misinformed on the subject and generalizing to say all Fram products suck?

I thought they used the same fuel filter on all Taurus till 2007 and still use it on the panther platform but I could be wrong

It is true, they are discontinuing part #FG881 which is a Motorcraft filter for our cars. They do however list a Purolator and Fram on their website. It says the Motorcraft filter is a clearance/discontinued item and will be sold until existing supplies run out.
