After research I found someone on another forum that had the same problem I do.

I have two problems for those of you that have been following.

1. The air doesn't come out of the dash very hard.

To fix this problem I bought a gen 1 motor from GMAN (thanks bud) to try a new fan. But, that wasn't the problem. Though I will not that the motor is the same as a gen 2 while the fan itself is different (and replaceable if you have your gen 2 fan).

I do think I found the problem though. About a year ago I bought a new power wire (orange and black) for the fan because it wouldn't come on. I bought it from the dealer and it turns out that the new wire reverses the polarity. There is an arrow on the fan showing it's direction and the cable from the factory turns the fan in the opposite direction. So I'll put the motor back in with the polarity fixed and see if I get a fix. (I also put my hand up as far as I could into the ducting to try to find any blockage but didn't find any.)

2. The motor runs all the time. When I bought a new HVAC from laser it fixed the problem for a day but then (without any rain) within 2 days the problem came back.

Doing some research I found that a person having the same problem (after checking for vent cracking and water intrusion) took their mark to the dealer and the dealer said it was the Reciculating Vent motor. Replaced it for 500$ (after pulling the dash) and it fixed the problem.

Anyone know where this motor is? Or 'controller'? ( I would imagine this is a controller not a motor.)

Just FYI I have 3 different motor controllers (the one by the fan motor and my problem happens with all three of them I don't think this is it.)

OK, put everything back togeather and it blows through the vents great. so there ya go. The black and orange cable from the dealership reverses the polarity of the motor.

the fan was reversed on my last town car when I got it
Not to be mean but I thought what a dumbass

At least you figured it out eventually. Thanks for the heads up too. Now I know if I ever have to get a new harness.

Bummer you spent all that cash on the spare controler from me. :(

I've actually taken the fan out before and watched it spin in my hand to make sure it worked. Never thought to make sure it spun in the right direction.

I'm worried I burned out the controller I got from you. The fan still is 'on' continuously and further more I noticed after I put it all back together that it blows only out of the defrost when you turn the controller off. If I remember right that's indicative of a vacuum leak. I'll have to look it up.

Great Googly Moogly  you have some $$ invested on that Mark now.

Hey man, I wanted to ask you. Do you have any idea what a reciculating vent motor is?

Ohh and thanks for the hood things. Work great.
