I removed one of the rubber inserts for the cupholder to clean it and its disappeared. I have no idea where it went. I've looked but cant find any part number for it. Has anyone else ordered one before and know the part number and the cost? I am guessing they are sold in pairs.

Yeah i have looked at that before, seems the standard parts catalog diagram. If i'm not mistaken the 1st gen. had a one piece insert like the one shown, the 2nd gen has two seperate identical circle inserts. Dont care to spent $21 and get the wrong part. I was hoping someone has to have ordered those things before.

Yea, I know. Your best bet then is to call Max.

My gen2 has a single piece insert. Maybe you meant that the other way around ?

Weird... We are talking about the rubber that goes inside the Cup Holders aren't we?

^ Okay thank you, I am not crazy then... lol

Maybe 05+ they changed them...

There are two separate rubber pieces on both on my LSs, an 04 and an 06. I really doubt that there are any gen II that are different than this. The two cup holders have a partition between them that goes about half way up. There's no way there could be a single rubber piece that covered both bottoms.

The heck with it. Here are some pictures.

I need the part number for the third break light cover in the 02

So it sounds like somewhere in the year 2004 production, they changed to two pieces.

There must have been a change sometime within 2nd gen cupholders. The one piece that has been shown actually goes up the sides of the cupholder along the side walls. Mine are are like the other picture which are just rubber coasters if you will that sit in the bottom of the cupholder. Each cupholder has its own removable insert. It looks like the cupholder holes themselves are the same thru all the 2nd gens so i would guess the one piece design would still work, dont know? But thats why i have been confused with the parts locator because mine are definately two separate pieces. I would assume there are different part #'s for the one piece versus the two piece. I usually put my phone in the front cupholder and now without the insert it slides around and has a vibration noise. I dont know how i lost it but i know i took it out to clean it and it vanished. Suspect maybe the wife thought it was just some rubber junk and threw it in the trash, but i'd love to get down to the bottom of this mystery. This thread has created more questions than answers now!! Either way $21 seems pretty expensive for a little rubber circle.

Yea, I keep my phone in the front holder with my phone resting so I can see it facing me.... With the rubber surround nothing slides around or vibrates. I love these cupholders, they are perfect IMO

And yea it is pretty funny how they are randomly changed lol

Exactly, me too. With the radio blasting i rely on the visual of my phone to know whether i have an incoming call, especially at night. With the insert it stays put and sits at a perfect angle. Now with most turns the phone slides around. Not a big deal but slightly annoying. I checked eBay but the only one is a 1st gen with the different smaller sized front cupholder. If i was really evil and wanting some bad karma i'd just go test drive a 2nd gen LS and swipe the insert, but not going to go that route.

I keep mine in my ash tray sometimes....its broken anyway and stays slid open. Its quite annoying but I haven't found a replacement on ebay or anywhere else yet.

Try ebay.

I did and only found a 1st gen. insert. I cant believe they are $21. I think i might try to make my own for less. I can afford the $21 but its just the principle of paying that much for a little rubber disc.
