im having a problem where oil is going to my radiator , i canceled the oil cooler and cleaned the whole cooling system , it appears that fixed it .
but my mechanic says the block seems to be cracked that he has seen at least 2 LS V8 with the same problem.

btw i dont have water in the oil.

I've never heard of a problem with LS blocks cracking but I do know a pretty common way any block cracks is people who try to run too much water instead of antifreeze. Water may cool slightly better in the summer but will freeze and crack the block if it gets gold enough in the winter. If there isn't any oil in the water I really highly doubt it's a cracked block. Even if there is some oil in the water, I'd def look into head gaskets first.

I doubt if the coolant/water would freeze in Mexico in August:rolleyes:

yea thanks. I wasnt saying that that is what happened to his car and sorry I don't know where he lives...

I don't know where he lives...

Kinda hard to find out where the guy lives. I know what you mean.

So you just troll around and look for people to make simple mistakes on forums? Sorry for missing location. Anyway, my post wasn't saying "your block is cracked because it froze." I was just explaining a common way blocks do crack. That's all.

Nope. I troll around looking for idiots like you who don't have the brain power to look on a web page and comprehend what it says.

You got a problem with that? If you do, let me know. I'm kind of bored, and I haven't torn into anyone here for a while.

As far as common blocks cracking... Have you heard of freeze plugs?

Ahhhh---'Freeze' plugs are actually part of the casting design. Don't have anything to do with freezing. That said, freezing will often push a Welch plug out of its opening in a block or head.

i like the big red arrow pointing to the circled word, as if circling it in red wasn't enough
