Anyone have a couple of these

Well today I changed out the spark plugs and did a overall inspection of my engine bay. Looking for any unexpectant leaks and the such. I bumped the plastic cover that covers my D/S shock tower and I am missing the 2 plastic push screws that hold it in place. Anyone have a set of them laying around?

Any auto parts store has them. Well, any decent one, anyway. Might as well buy them new, you get a couple of used ones from someone here, you'll end up with the same problem. Brittle plastic.

I went to Advance and Autozone and Pep Boys and NAPA, and they had some in the Help section, but they were either too big or too small. Just thinking someone has a couple laying around.

All those places have the right size. They have them in phillips and the style where you just have the pull out tab in the middle.

The only fasteners I cant find there are the plastic ones for the cowl. I have 3 broken ones.

Yeah I know the ones you are talking about, gotten many in my past. But for some reason not in the size I need now. I may hit the JY next week if I can not get them.

i actually got mine at lowes or home depot, cant remember which since i often go to both .

Nope. They are flat head and the screw threads are flat on two sides. The other ones dont seem to clip down hard enough.

Thanks for the compliment. I try to keep it clean and I inspect everything all the time. Been like that all my life.

The steering wheel has the stamped emblem in the airbag. Why you ask that, was not aware of any other type of stamping on the bag.

iirc, sometime after mid year 97 they started putting the raised colored emblem on em.

I ask because I could have sworn I had seen a 97 LSC with the badge on the wheel but couldnt remember who. I dont have any pics of my old 97 so cant see. I guess it is only the 98 Marks that have the little red and chrome emblem in the steering wheel.


EDIT: I see it may be mid year according to SBC.

i recall someone saying some 97's had em...Even a guy i bought a part off locally had a black 97 with the newer raised emblem.

I didn't notice either till recently. Doesn't bother me 1 bit either. As long as i have a g2 thats all that matters.

The plastic stamp bothers me. I have a early 97, need to find an emblem airbag. I like the little touches like the chrome door jambs, rounded off rear-view mirror that some 98s have and the intech cover. Just need to find LSC moldings, emblem air bag and if I can find CE parts.

Ape, swing by a body shop or even a dealership. Either should have those clips. Same for Laser, although a glass shop would prob have them as well.
